  1. No longer on the brink. They are relegated.
  2. And one got a very nice pay packet guesting for a Championship side on Sunday!!
  3. Depends on the rider, but I would hope it would make riders more determined to prove their worth in the team, making them less likely to be "dropped."
  4. My point is in response to the question you posed on line three of your previous post. This was the response made by George on the night. Nothing other than that. Still very early days. And I say that with the thought being the current 1-7 might not (and probably not) be the 1-7 at the end of the season. It will be poignant on Sunday, you are quite right, let's hope for a big crowd to say "thank you and goodbye" to a genuine legend of the sport and to the Diamonds.
  5. How is this possible when you are riding tonight?? There must be something wrong somewhere!! Will be heading down the A19 for this one. Hopefully an entertaining meeting with no injuries.
  6. Steffan N, even! I think some credit should also be given to ref Darren Hartley, who pushed the meeting through swiftly, despite a 12 minute delay following the Lewis & Danny P crash. It was also great to see Dalbers back.
  7. Gino Manzares rode well and you could argue deserved more than the 6 points he got.
  8. Rain on the MetOffice site for Byker, now forecast (50% chance) from 21:00. So we should be OK. Lewis Kerr guests for Stevie Worrall at number 1 for the Scorpions.
  9. Regards the Ty Proctor thingy. It just goes to show the stupidity of the whole thing, when a rider can ride in one league, but not another!
  10. Hopefully it will stop raining long enough to come down for this one and support the Diamonds, for what will be my first meeting of the season! I'd guess at Kyle Howarth for the guest spot for Stevie, if they don't go down the R/R route.
  11. The meeting wasn't over two legs, though, was it?
  12. Tomorrows meeting at Newcastle is OFF. I didn't see this thread and started one in Individual/Shared Events !
  13. It it's kids, then why don't the parents keep control of them and tell them to stay away from the incident?
  14. Looks like it has come through now, as he's listed in the Comets Line-up on their Twitter and Facebook pages, so panic over! Best wishes to Stevie W after his trip to hospital. I hope he's OK and it's nothing serious and just a precaution.
  15. Workington Twitter feed lists both Ty P and Chris H in the line-ups.
  16. The Visa's, as far as I understand, are to do with which League the track is in. Ty Proctor, for example, had his Premiership Visa but not Championship Visa, so if the Individual was ridden on, say Belle Vue's track, he could ride in it, but not a Workington individual, as that's a CL track! Completely barmy, if you ask me, but there you go!
  17. Also, don't forget the engine tuners, who are raking it in from riders income.
  18. Sorry, I should also said that there was more fixtures last season in the SGB Championship as it was home and away twice. With the introduction of Lakeside to the league, it was felt (quite rightly in my opinion) after a lot of clubs having to rush their fixtures through at the end of the season, mainly due to the weather in a lot of cases, that we would only race against each other once home and away, so instead of 18 home and 18 away League matches, it is 10 home and 10 away League matches + the Championship Shield (the 'old' League Cup) was re-introduced, with some having 3 home and three away and the 'Southern' Group 2 home and two away. That's why it's 'fractured,' less official fixtures.
  19. All due to every year the clubs, because of bad weather, rushing their fixtures through at the end of the season to meet the cut-off for the play-offs, especially in the SGB Championship, so they cut the number of League fixtures.
