No pressure on him, but I think we are looking at Lewis Rose to keep up the improvement he has shown over the last 3 seasons. Ashley may improve on his just below 5 average, so there's hope there too. I personally believe that we will be fine at home, generally, but away may not be as pretty to watch. I'll still get to away matches when I can, though, starting with Berwick next Saturday.

Nope.... no bite here..... move along....

Two simple questions for you then. What with (finances) and where (location)? It can't be a "mistake" if they couldn't find a suitable piece of land (or didn't have the financial part of it sorted). I'm guessing you know of someone with thousands of pounds to throw at it (with very little return) and a nice big patch of land, where the planning permission won't be much of a problem, for track, viewing facitities, pits, car park, pipes for the toilets and running water etc. If so, I'm sure George, Martin etc., would be eager to hear from you!!

Just because my opinion differs to yours, you have to resort to name calling? Well done. I don't believe we will lose every single meeting, so I won't be "coming back" and, I believe, it will be you who will be eating humble pie.

Ben Barker named in the Julie Lewis Memorial line-up, so presume all is well between him and the Bears: http://redcarbears.co/2018/03/21/julie-lewis-memorial-lineup-revealed/

Is this the rider we are talking about? http://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/459/anders-eriksson

Surely it depends on who the last rider is? How you can judge on the six so far (bearing in mind Ludde and Robbo are near as makes no difference 7pt riders) and say "it's like Mildenhall in '08," is, frankly, a rediculous statement.

I was replying to Tsunami and, as I was doing that, you posted!!

The weather plays a big part in how you can prepare a track.

I make it 7.75 left. (providing Matty comes in on 5.65).

The meeting against Berwick is a "Challenge" match, so an agreement between the two teams could be met, if necessary.

We are at Berwick that night, in the 1st leg of the Tyne/Tweed Trophy, so, hopefully, any new number one will be at Berwick riding for us!! It's happened once or twice before - Metej Ferjan in 2004 was a mighty c**k up, but not totally of Newcastle's doing - and I remember we announced Savalas Clouting (I think it was) and they told Will Beveridge he was being dropped, only for them not to be allowed to sign him and having to go back to Will and ask him to carry on riding. Once (or twice!) bitten etc.

Firstly, I have never told people "to be quiet." This is an open forum and people are entitled to their opinion, that will never change. Secondly, I have as much idea as to what is happening as you and, I presume, most fans, but, I would still say "be patient," as I would rather think positively, rather than negatively. If that's "irritating," then sorry, but that's just tough, because I think everything will be alright and that's my opinion/hope. Just to add, I am as frustrated as most fans seem to be. I am a fan too, at the end of the day.

Perhaps it would have been better for them to say "We should be able to release good news soon," rather than put any timescale on it?

Maybe being the appropriate word in that sentence.

I know it's easy to get frustrated not knowing, but, I'd guess, not as frustrated as the Promotion/Club Owners are at not having a 1-7 in place yet. Quite why they "have to bring out a statement," I really don't know, because we know what the would statement would be. As "ruffdiamond" says, why would people "in the know" put their hands in their pockets, if there is even a slightest possibility of not running?

Would the fans support an NL team? I know NL would be cheaper riders wise, but it would be the same outlay for stadium rent (I doubt they would reduce the rent just because we would be in a lower league), Ambulance cover, Ref fees etc. Bearing in mind we are down to the hardcore fans as it is, dropping down to NL doesn't necessarily mean it will be any easier on the finances, but, at the same time, any speedway is better than no speedway.

Scunthorpe Scorpions 2018
StevePark replied to IronScorpion's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I can see/rather have the following: 1. Yet more inconsistency. 2. Just award the race 3. Not a problem with that, as such, but I've always felt heat 15 should be the top two scorers on the night (if fit to race) from each side. P.S Good luck to Danny P. -
