  1. My Asda also had last weeks on the shelves (at 7.55am). Fortunately for me the lady had this weeks delivery in 7 big grey boxes and she searched them until she found the one with the 'Star's' in it (box 6 as it happens!). Took her a few minutes of her time. Great service.
  2. I think most are pleased we are running, but you always get the few who will have a go, simply becaise they can. I'll be there, supporting the team as usual. Not expecting a win, but providing we are entertained, I'm not too concerned.
  3. Don't forget we will be getting loan fees for both Danny and Matty. We are not using Danny, because the way they wanted to build the team (ie no out and out number one, but "strength in depth"). If we'd gone down the number one route, I'm pretty sure Danny would have been used. If we had "demanded" a transfer fee for Matej, maybe (and I am only guessing) Redcar (or anyone else) didn't want to pay that, so, rather than have him out of British Speedway, it was better to loan him out and get a loan fee in, rather than have an asset on the books doing nothing for anybody.
  4. George stepped down from the MC for 2018, so not sure if he'd want to be back on it "full time," that was my thinking anyway.
  5. It depends on how George lines the team up, but I can't see many teams coming to Brough and getting a heat advantage out of heats 2, 4 , 8 or 12 for a start. Ludde and Robbo can handle themselves around Brough, often beating top opposition riders. As I say, away from home will probably be a different kettle of bananas.
  6. No pressure on him, but I think we are looking at Lewis Rose to keep up the improvement he has shown over the last 3 seasons. Ashley may improve on his just below 5 average, so there's hope there too. I personally believe that we will be fine at home, generally, but away may not be as pretty to watch. I'll still get to away matches when I can, though, starting with Berwick next Saturday.
  7. Nope.... no bite here..... move along....
  8. Two simple questions for you then. What with (finances) and where (location)? It can't be a "mistake" if they couldn't find a suitable piece of land (or didn't have the financial part of it sorted). I'm guessing you know of someone with thousands of pounds to throw at it (with very little return) and a nice big patch of land, where the planning permission won't be much of a problem, for track, viewing facitities, pits, car park, pipes for the toilets and running water etc. If so, I'm sure George, Martin etc., would be eager to hear from you!!
  9. Just because my opinion differs to yours, you have to resort to name calling? Well done. I don't believe we will lose every single meeting, so I won't be "coming back" and, I believe, it will be you who will be eating humble pie.
  10. Ben Barker named in the Julie Lewis Memorial line-up, so presume all is well between him and the Bears: http://redcarbears.co/2018/03/21/julie-lewis-memorial-lineup-revealed/
  11. Is this the rider we are talking about? http://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/459/anders-eriksson
  12. Surely it depends on who the last rider is? How you can judge on the six so far (bearing in mind Ludde and Robbo are near as makes no difference 7pt riders) and say "it's like Mildenhall in '08," is, frankly, a rediculous statement.
  13. I was replying to Tsunami and, as I was doing that, you posted!!
  14. The weather plays a big part in how you can prepare a track.
  15. I make it 7.75 left. (providing Matty comes in on 5.65).
  16. Welcome "Stormy" http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100840
  17. The meeting against Berwick is a "Challenge" match, so an agreement between the two teams could be met, if necessary.
  18. We are at Berwick that night, in the 1st leg of the Tyne/Tweed Trophy, so, hopefully, any new number one will be at Berwick riding for us!! It's happened once or twice before - Metej Ferjan in 2004 was a mighty c**k up, but not totally of Newcastle's doing - and I remember we announced Savalas Clouting (I think it was) and they told Will Beveridge he was being dropped, only for them not to be allowed to sign him and having to go back to Will and ask him to carry on riding. Once (or twice!) bitten etc.
  19. Firstly, I have never told people "to be quiet." This is an open forum and people are entitled to their opinion, that will never change. Secondly, I have as much idea as to what is happening as you and, I presume, most fans, but, I would still say "be patient," as I would rather think positively, rather than negatively. If that's "irritating," then sorry, but that's just tough, because I think everything will be alright and that's my opinion/hope. Just to add, I am as frustrated as most fans seem to be. I am a fan too, at the end of the day.
  20. Perhaps it would have been better for them to say "We should be able to release good news soon," rather than put any timescale on it?
  21. Maybe being the appropriate word in that sentence.
  22. Ostergaard, Stewart and Nicholls added to the Cumberland Open.... http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100905
