1995 & 1996 were the years of one big league (1997 was 6 man teams in the Premier/2nd Division).
Middlesbrough used the 'blank R/R' rule all season in 1996 when Shane Parker was the number 1. There was a supplementary rule brought in for the R/R for the invisible man.
How many of the Promoters?
If it was to be one league (whatever daft name they would come up with) I can see quite a few current Championship clubs closing, as they wouldn't be able to afford a top liner rider at number 1 (some can't afford one now).
Panic buttons being pressed after ONE home defeat!"FFS.
Crowds holding up well because they are generally being entertained and winning all but two home meetings this season.
Two semi-finals, one with 6 teams over 12 heats and one with 5 teams and 10 heats, with a 12 heat final (I believe it's the top two from each semi going through).

Carb problems, actually. He was changing the carb off the second bike to put onto his first bike, before being told that he was being replaced in heat 12.
No Tero so it's R/R and Robbo goes back to number 5.
Also no George English!
Also 'old' uprights in the second half (inc Jonny Swales, Jade Mudgeway and Dave Jamieson!).
