  1. 38 points to "play with." Let the speculation/guesses begin..... GO!!
  2. They've got owners, it's a Promoter they need.
  3. Leicester and Sheffield in the same league. Same promoters/owners?
  4. Let's go through the Championship one by one (generally North to South (ish!): Edinburgh - off the second bend, away from the crowd. Glasgow - off the second bend towards the back straight, up on high, visible to most, if not all the crowd. Berwick - off the the fourth bend, easily seen from back straight and maybe a little from the main stand. Newcastle - off the first turn and anyone can stand next to the fence and look in the pits during meetings. Redcar - Apex of turns 3 & 4 and everyone can see from the crowd Workington - entrance to turn 1 and you can easily look down from turn 1 and see into them Scunthorpe - off turn three and not easily seen (especially the away pit as it backs on to the home pit. Sheffield - off turn 4 and you can stand next to the pits in the main stand on the home straight and also from the stand on 3&4. Peterborough - off turn 2 and easily seen from the main stand and also if you stand near the pits. Ipswich - just before turn 1 and not easily seen into Lakeside - (at Rye House) entrance to turn 1 and can be seen if you look down off turn 1 but not easily if you are in the main stand or further along towards turn 2. So (at least in the Championship) generally the pits can be seen.
  5. Martin Phillips talks about the 2018 season and also the future here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100933
  6. diamond@heart suggests (previous page) they were relegated last season and would be riding Saturday's in 2019.
  7. I don't know where those rumours were heard, or came from, but, as far as I am aware, providing things got/get sorted, Newcastle were always going to run next year.
  8. As I am sure most will know (but I will repeat it here for those who don't!), Monday's are no longer what they used to be at Brough. Everytime we have run on a Monday (with the very odd exception possibly) the crowds have been down, compared to that of a Sunday, so, THJ is quite correct in his assumption that Sunday's are the preferred option, despite the obvious "Poland" implications.
  9. No idea ! That's why I asked !! The score I looked at was a 26 - 64 (or something like that) home hammering and they had no one at number 6! If they are a Saturday, hopefully that won't impact on his possible return.
  10. I see that Tero has signed for Wanda Krakow for 2019. Does this rule him out of a return to the Diamonds?
  11. Some would argue that it is a good move, as it would get rid of his three rides quicker. There seems to be little mention of the fact that Danny was coming back after a serious injury (bearing in mind the doctors told him to forget about riding again after the injury occurred). Some take longer to get back to a level they were at (he was averaging over 4 in the PL when the injury happened). The only thing you can have a go at him (or indeed the Scunthorpe Management) for is he came back too quickly at the higher level and maybe should have concentrated on the NL for the season.
  12. What they said was (copied and pasted off Facebook/Website): “Of course there is a lot of hard work involved for any new owners and myself (Scott) ,Jamie and the ever loyal Dennis McCleary will be only too happy to spend the winter months helping any new owners settle in and acclimatise to their surroundings."
  13. Dennis McCleary will still be a promoter (unless any new owners get rid of him, which, in my opinion would be a mistake) and both Scott & Jamie have said they are attending the AGM, so they haven't handed in their promoters licences just yet, so time still to sign riders
  14. It's either he's not an Adam Faith fan (one for the Teenagers), or, he's not an animal lover..... possibly....
  15. Lakeside v Peterborough should stand despite being abandoned after 8.
  16. Common sense would say the result tonight will stand. But this is speedway so anything is possible.
  17. Occasional treat back then (2003) and a very rare occasional treat now (although I cant remember the last time I had a pizza, but probably a good two years ago). But thanks for the observation
  18. It had pi**ed down while were eating it in The Waterfront. We had dropped Bjarne Pedersen (he was doubling down for Newcastle at the time) off at 5.30pm in glorious sunshine, for a British League fixture between the Falcons and Poole, but when we left the pizza restaurant at about 7pm it had hammered down!
  19. We went to Exeter for a pizza once. I'm afraid it's the chance you take (at any time of the year, but particularly in October).
