  1. Mikkel B Andersen has declared himself unfit, so Coty Garcia guests:
  2. I think you have to book in advance for the Panarama Restaurant, but the bar area will be open. Perhaps a Sheffield person (or anyone that knows?) will be able to confirm?
  3. Line-up change. Stuart Robson (withdrawn from the Glasgow match on Friday night) OUT - Tero Aarnio IN
  4. Ok. I thought (obviously incorrectly it seems) you could miss 24 hours either side of the event (presumably for travel arrangements to get to and from far off places),
  5. As far as I can see, they used R/R for James Shanes, who was representing GB at the World Longtrack Team Cup, which is an FIM event, so can't see what Sheffield have done wrong (if this is what is being asked).
  6. Was originally coming up for this, but after Tero's crash las night, we came to a decision that we haven't got a hope, so will be watching on Updates. Cook and Harris should have a field day and fill their boots points wise.
  7. R/R OR Guest. Up to the club. And I know your last question is tongue in cheek, but for those unaware, you shouldn't be able to sign someone as cover!
  8. Sorry, but I have to disagree with you here (see the second highlighted part of your post) If you are asked to leave the stadium, you do so as quickly and as safely as possible and to go back in to 'have a look' is acting badly in my opinion. Best wishes to Dan for a full recovery, however long it takes. Also, on the Steve Worrall fiasco, people appear to want to blame Lakeside (quite rightly) for getting a guest who was ineligible or Workington (again rightly) for acting in an ungentlemanly conduct way, for letting the rider turn up and then saying he can't ride, but not many have pointed out someone at the BSPA must have approved to the guesting in the first place?
  9. So won't be at Newcastle tomorrow either then (providing it's on)?
  10. More problems for the Scorpions, as Stevie Worrall has withdrawn from the meeting. So they are now operating R/R AND IRR
  11. Is there a curfew time at Lakeside? Doesn't matter - it's OFF
  12. I thought that was obvious. The Poles run speedway. When they say "jump," everyone has to ask "how high?"
  13. Birmingham to meet Peterborough in an Inter-League Challenge on 12th Sept:
  14. Ivan Mauger, Russ Dent, Goog Allen, Mike Watkin, Ken Sharples, Jack Winstanley, Bill Andrews, Peter Kelly and Morrie Robinson all rode that year I believe. http://www.newcastlespeedwayhistory.co.uk/1960 2.htm Scroll down for 1964.
  15. He was sitting next to me on my right. I thought he might have been introduced to the room, as quite a few will remember him. If he'd agreed to it, maybe even a quick chat with him would have been rather nice too.
  16. Firstly, appreciate you coming up last night and introducing yourself. Unfortunately we didn't learn too much more than what we already knew, although it was interesting to hear about the possibility of having an NL side to add to the Championship side sometime in the future. I just hope they know what they are doing with that one. It was great to sit next to ex-Pits Marshal Ivan Stevenson last night, who told me one or two stories from the distant past. Hopefully we can put a competitive team together for 2019 and, for what it's worth, I'd have Tero and Ash the top of my list from the current line-up to return next season.
  17. Different type of track entirely though! I'm a Newcastle fan (although I have always said I'm a speedway fan first and a Diamonds fan second), and I am looking at all this from the outside and just playing 'Devil's Advocate' and trying to look at things objectively, without any bias for or against Sheffield as a team or it's promotion.
  18. Andersen's first meeting there presumably, so it might take him time to learn the track, possibly? Bike problems before the meeting (and presumably during the meeting), apparently.
  19. But you are totally over-looking the fact that two of three Sheffield riders you name are on assessed averages. So to compare the averages is erroneous at best. Also, how long have said Sheffield riders been riding, compared to the three Diamonds riders you name? As far as I can see, the Promotion aren't hiding anything. Kyle Howarth has publicly stated that riders are being paid, so that conspiracy theory is blown completely out of the water. Teams/riders go through bad patches. Why do some fans look for an undercurrent, which 999 times out of 1000 isn't there?
  20. It was another terrific effort by Jonny Swales and his track staff team to get the meeting on:
