  1. How many more times does it have to be said? Lewis Rose has NOT retired from speedway. He has NEVER said he has retired. He is taking time out from the sport, until such time he is ready to return.
  2. Not according to George English at the Fans Meeting a few weeks ago. I think you will find, because it was a re-arranged fixture, you shouldn't have had a facility last weekend! Even Tony Jackson was surprised to be allowed a facility. Because the original fixture was in the fixture list since the fixtures came out, you were allowed a facility for that (original) meeting, despite the blurb on your website at the time saying that it was a re-arranged fixture (which it clearly wasn't) and that's why you were going with NL riders.
  3. As far as I am aware, we don't know why Lindgren wasn't there for definite, just the usual rumours. As far as Matty W is concerned, many on this forum have been saying we need to go back to the days when riders rode speedway as a hobby and did a "proper job" as well. This is what could happen if that occurred. Workington DID have a choice. They could have had a facility to replace riders with R/R and Guests (as was proved last weekend when you had Summers for Klindt).
  4. Workington were quite happy to turn up at Brough for the originally scheduled Championship League clash (which was called off) with two NL guests, but you appear to have a very short memory and forget this, of course. I'm not saying it's right, by the way.
  5. Now announced at trackside that Matty W couldn't get time off work. (Again this on updates website).
  6. Updates says "It has not been announced where Ludvig Lindgren is . But rumours trackside is Matthew Wethers was unable to get time off work for the match." Please note this is according to Updates site.
  7. He was at Brough Park last night (Sunday 16th Sept), reminiscing about his season with the Diamonds in 1970!
  8. That'll be the track which your riders didn't want to ride in the second meeting of our double-header then.
  9. Just like to say Good Luck to Stuart Robson after he announced tonight that this season would be his last. Been a great servant to Newcastle and also British Speedway in general. Also well done Archie Freeman in winning the 150cc Youth Championship with four qualifying wins and a win in the Grand Final.
  10. Maybe thinking wrong here, but did I not read somewhere that, because it's a re-arranged fixture, Comets are allowed a facility? Now, the problem is, I don't know if the Polish fixture is a re-arranged match as well!!
  11. Not quite everyone. Eric Thornton (Newcastle Diamonds Speedway Star contributor) had you top of the league, in the pre-season "Bumper Issue."
  12. Comets will use Aaron Summers and Kevin Doolan as guests for Klindt and Bewley respectively and R/R for Proctor: http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=101009
  13. There is no problem with the forecast for Sunday at Newcastle.
  14. A couple of added attractions for this one. The British Junior Championship Final follows the main meeting. Eight heats of qualifiers and a Grand Final (hence the earlier start time of 5.30pm) and also Kenni Larsen is over from Denmark and will be at Brough tomorrow night. It will be great to see him again: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100925 Diamonds will use R/R for Matej Kus, not sure about the Comets line-up!
  15. He put on Facebook this morning that his season is over.
  16. Heavy fall last week while riding for Wolves, tried riding through the pain, but was advised to rest.
  17. Yes, it is now. What I was trying to say is it didn't used to be.
  18. You could never have a tac ride before heat 5. You're right in thinking heat 8 used to be protected, but my dodgy memory is telling me that was scrapped, but brought back this season, but I could be wrong though.
  19. After heat 4 and upto and including heat 14, with the exception of heat 8.
  20. R/R tomorrow too: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100921
  21. I thought Ludvig would be number one on the new averages? (Ludde 6.77, Stu 6.69)
  22. Anyone got the official 1-7 line-ups for this one please?
