  1. What they said was (copied and pasted off Facebook/Website): “Of course there is a lot of hard work involved for any new owners and myself (Scott) ,Jamie and the ever loyal Dennis McCleary will be only too happy to spend the winter months helping any new owners settle in and acclimatise to their surroundings."
  2. Dennis McCleary will still be a promoter (unless any new owners get rid of him, which, in my opinion would be a mistake) and both Scott & Jamie have said they are attending the AGM, so they haven't handed in their promoters licences just yet, so time still to sign riders
  3. It's either he's not an Adam Faith fan (one for the Teenagers), or, he's not an animal lover..... possibly....
  4. Lakeside v Peterborough should stand despite being abandoned after 8.
  5. Common sense would say the result tonight will stand. But this is speedway so anything is possible.
  6. Occasional treat back then (2003) and a very rare occasional treat now (although I cant remember the last time I had a pizza, but probably a good two years ago). But thanks for the observation
  7. It had pi**ed down while were eating it in The Waterfront. We had dropped Bjarne Pedersen (he was doubling down for Newcastle at the time) off at 5.30pm in glorious sunshine, for a British League fixture between the Falcons and Poole, but when we left the pizza restaurant at about 7pm it had hammered down!
  8. We went to Exeter for a pizza once. I'm afraid it's the chance you take (at any time of the year, but particularly in October).
  9. It will also be interesting to see what happens with Ty Proctor and his Visa for next year. His current GSA (effective 01/10/19) is 6.96. So will he miss out (not achieving 7.00) by failing by 0.04?
  10. 13 from 7 rides 8/9/18 & 11+1 from 6 rides 21/9/18 for Newcastle. Not too shabby I would suggest!!
  11. It's been pointed out many times that the Stock Car income keeps the speedway going.
  12. Gladders brothers are Directors. Named Promoters are Kevin Keay and Jittendra Duffill (see post on first page).
  13. George said, at the Fans Forum thing at The South Gosforth CIU Club, that attendances had gone up slightly this season, compared to last season. I attended all Newcastle home meetings this season just gone and also Redcar when we were there and also when Peterborough were there towards the end of the season and I thought the attendances were similar at each track, but you can't really go off seeing the Redcar attendance so few times. Let's hope (a) new promoter(s) can be found to keep Redcar going.
  14. Yes, but you could argue though that, if they are among the best in the World, they should be in it, regardless of how many others from the same country are in it.
  15. Leon Flint OUT - Sheldon Davies IN
  16. How many more times does it have to be said? Lewis Rose has NOT retired from speedway. He has NEVER said he has retired. He is taking time out from the sport, until such time he is ready to return.
  17. Not according to George English at the Fans Meeting a few weeks ago. I think you will find, because it was a re-arranged fixture, you shouldn't have had a facility last weekend! Even Tony Jackson was surprised to be allowed a facility. Because the original fixture was in the fixture list since the fixtures came out, you were allowed a facility for that (original) meeting, despite the blurb on your website at the time saying that it was a re-arranged fixture (which it clearly wasn't) and that's why you were going with NL riders.
  18. As far as I am aware, we don't know why Lindgren wasn't there for definite, just the usual rumours. As far as Matty W is concerned, many on this forum have been saying we need to go back to the days when riders rode speedway as a hobby and did a "proper job" as well. This is what could happen if that occurred. Workington DID have a choice. They could have had a facility to replace riders with R/R and Guests (as was proved last weekend when you had Summers for Klindt).
  19. Workington were quite happy to turn up at Brough for the originally scheduled Championship League clash (which was called off) with two NL guests, but you appear to have a very short memory and forget this, of course. I'm not saying it's right, by the way.
  20. Now announced at trackside that Matty W couldn't get time off work. (Again this on updates website).
  21. Updates says "It has not been announced where Ludvig Lindgren is . But rumours trackside is Matthew Wethers was unable to get time off work for the match." Please note this is according to Updates site.
