We had a rider at the end of the season that couldn't get time off work. so missed the meeting (Matty Wethers for Newcastle at Workington).

Championship and Poland
StevePark replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sorry, but that doesn't really help. Newcastle and from next season, Sheffield are Sunday tracks, so which of the above riders does that rule out those two sides signing? -
Championship and Poland

The important thing is what days (potentially) do their Polish clubs ride? -
Matej could be a steal on his average. I'd take Alfie over Ben, but doubt Alfie will be heading north. Matty W should now be a certain starter for us next season, with the average now just 38. It also might play in a return for Carl W. I still say Tero and Ash are a must for 2019.

Monday & Thursday "Protected Race Nights" in the Premiership.

ONE extra league fixture... WOW!! (eleven teams last season "up to 12" next season). Not a great deal of difference. The two clubs dropping down and the two NL clubs moving up (I believe) won't be in the Northern Group of the Shield (or whatever they are going to call it next year), so no extra fixtures there either.

38 points to "play with." Let the speculation/guesses begin..... GO!!

They've got owners, it's a Promoter they need.

"on ice" until new track can be found'

Leicester and Sheffield in the same league. Same promoters/owners?

Let's go through the Championship one by one (generally North to South (ish!): Edinburgh - off the second bend, away from the crowd. Glasgow - off the second bend towards the back straight, up on high, visible to most, if not all the crowd. Berwick - off the the fourth bend, easily seen from back straight and maybe a little from the main stand. Newcastle - off the first turn and anyone can stand next to the fence and look in the pits during meetings. Redcar - Apex of turns 3 & 4 and everyone can see from the crowd Workington - entrance to turn 1 and you can easily look down from turn 1 and see into them Scunthorpe - off turn three and not easily seen (especially the away pit as it backs on to the home pit. Sheffield - off turn 4 and you can stand next to the pits in the main stand on the home straight and also from the stand on 3&4. Peterborough - off turn 2 and easily seen from the main stand and also if you stand near the pits. Ipswich - just before turn 1 and not easily seen into Lakeside - (at Rye House) entrance to turn 1 and can be seen if you look down off turn 1 but not easily if you are in the main stand or further along towards turn 2. So (at least in the Championship) generally the pits can be seen.

Thanks, Max Boyce... (one for the teenagers!)

Insane money for any league.

I'm finishing work (apparently!)!

None.

diamond@heart suggests (previous page) they were relegated last season and would be riding Saturday's in 2019.
-
I don't know where those rumours were heard, or came from, but, as far as I am aware, providing things got/get sorted, Newcastle were always going to run next year.
-
As I am sure most will know (but I will repeat it here for those who don't!), Monday's are no longer what they used to be at Brough. Everytime we have run on a Monday (with the very odd exception possibly) the crowds have been down, compared to that of a Sunday, so, THJ is quite correct in his assumption that Sunday's are the preferred option, despite the obvious "Poland" implications.

No idea ! That's why I asked !! The score I looked at was a 26 - 64 (or something like that) home hammering and they had no one at number 6! If they are a Saturday, hopefully that won't impact on his possible return.
