  1. Copied and Pasted off Newcastle website: The 2019 Newcastle Diamond's Press and Practice session will be on Sunday March 24th! The day's running order follows the lines of: Times approximate.... 11.00am press photographs and TV interviews 12noon on track practice 4.30pm Downstairs bar for a "Meet the riders" session for around two hours. The snack bar and bar will be open for business across the afternoon...times to be confirmed. The track shop will also be open also selling tea and coffee. The event is free entry, but there will be a request to donate to the Great North Air Ambulance if you'd like to do so.
  2. I would stay clear of her for a while if I was you, with comments like that!!!!
  3. I take it from that, you know how much the Staggs Bar have put in? Not only that, don't forget the "Partnership" Sponsors, which lessen the load on the Main Team Sponsor.
  4. I remember a few seasons a go, Simon guested for us at Brough, fairly late on in the season. He got clobbered the night before and was very battered and bruised, but rode for us anyway, because he knew we were desperate. You can't fault the lads commitment, but Brough is not one of his favourite tracks and would be in the main body of the team and I think he is a reserve at best these days. Mason Campton has said on Facebook, we should give Josh MacDonald a go. The trouble with that is, he would have to hit the ground running. He'd be in the main body of the team and won't have seen many of the away tracks, let alone Brough. As mentioned above, Carl Wilkinson would come into the reckoning, simply by the numbers game and again would come in to the main body of the side. He'd (obviously) give 100%, but is he just a decent reserve these days? On balance I would personally go for MacDonald. I think he'd become an asset and might just be the next good thing out of Oz. There is only one way to find that out and take a 'gamble' on him. There would be little lost if it didn't work out, for either party.
  5. I think it's 4.34. (or 4.45 if he's allowed a reduction).
  6. I'd stop feeding the Troll. Most people know how well the Diamonds treat their riders. That's why a lot of them come back to ride for us.
  7. Workington signed him on 6.83 http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=101050
  8. Home 8.97. Away 3.84. Includes League, Shield & KOC matches. (Taken from the Speedway Star Diamonds season review).
  9. I'd presume they are waiting until they get the new rider signed and agreed by BSPA before any announcement??
  10. Depends who (if indeed it's anyone) else they drop. But around the four points mark brings in Wilko on 3.96. Simon Lambert (but I doubt it would be him) comes in at 4.29.
  11. He's entitled to a 2.5% reduction, and will be 7.97 (as dictated by the average he was brought in on at Workington).
  12. 1-7 signed = 37.57 (using the averages on the Diamonds website). Steve W = 8.17 (less any reduction he might get).
  13. New Promoter at Redcar...... http://www.redcar-speedway.com/2019/02/27/new-promoter-for-bears/

  15. You may have hit the de nail on the head......

  17. When we (GRT Media - the late Bob Tasker) first started regularly filming at Sheffield, Neil Machin was saying that this is the way to go. This was in around 2009 I think, so it's nothing new. Although, IIRC, Neil was wanting it on (then Sky) TV, rather than a download type broadcast.
  18. At least then, British riders will get their chance, which many reckon they should be getting in the first place.
  19. Reserve your table now by calling Owlerton Stadium on 0114 2343074. (Taken from the Sheffield Speedway Website)
  20. It was brought in in 2014, if that helps (I know it doesn't!)!!
  21. I think I have to respond to both points. Number 1. You say it can be dangerous "at times." I'm guessing you've only been to the track when Workington have visited? Correct me if I'm wrong please. You're not there every week of the season, when the track can be near or absolutely perfect. Can you put in facts and figures that Brough Park is more dangerous than most other tracks when riders have been injured purely down to track conditions? I can guess that riders get injured there no more than other tracks up and down the country. Number 2. Tsunami may be able to confirm, but I believe that this element of "supporter" is no longer there.
