  1. Begs the question why were the stadiums "packed full" then?
  2. 1984 British Final at Coventry: World of Sport coverage:
  3. Press & Practice set for Sat 23 March at 12 noon (admission FREE):
  4. First official fixtures aren't until 29 March, though.
  5. I'm pretty sure it's a SCB/BSPL rule that all pit staff must wear hi-viz jackets/coats.
  6. Norick Blodorn next announced: https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/norick-joins-craven-field/
  7. Maybe she will, but it's extra time on the bike, so, therefore, helping with set-up and everything that goes with it.
  8. Any extra meetings she can get can only be beneficial to her and to the Comets, surely ?
  9. OFFICIAL meeting. Rode in two challenge matches prior to that.
  10. I don't think it really matters at the end of the day, it is what's inside them that counts. Racesuits designs ain't gonna win or lose you meetings.
  11. Perhaps the sponsor paid for it to be above the Comets logo? The whole thing looks good to me. The way the Comets are doing things can only be applauded .
  12. Here's another speedway film from 1933 "Britannia of Billingsgate"
  13. What Berwick would do for a crowd like that these days!
  14. That's as maybe, but are the riders available wanting an exorbitant amount, or maybe even the riders aren't suitable (for whatever reason)? There could be a whole host of reasons why they haven't signed a seventh rider.
  15. I have every respect for those who are involved at the Junior Level - riders, mechanics, promoters, fixture compilers etc. etc. My post was tongue in cheek, as, what I meant was that the fixtures wouldn't be much use being issued after the season has started (trying to state the bleeding obvious!!). Sorry if it caused any offence - it was not meant.
  16. There used to be a Sidecar Speedway racer called Gary Moon: http://www.motorsportmemorial.org/focus.php?db=ms&n=10391
  17. He also rode at Leicester in a Championship League match (which is the 1 match I eluded to earlier!!) scoring 1 from 3 (0,1,R)
  18. He started the 2022 season (rumour was he was already injured and would not be riding much), so why would he get a reduction? Certainly shouldn't get a reduction from the 8.21 he started with (and therefore finished with) at Newcastle, to "around 6".
  19. From (a poor memory!) he only rode in one match for us, in the Tyne Tees Trophy leg at Redcar, scoring just the single point from three rides. His averages are (all leagues): 2016 Somerset (35 matches) 6.26, Poole (1 match) 1.33. 2017 Peterborough (28 matches) 6.34, Swindon (26 matches) 5.57. 2018 Somerset (26 matches) 5.57, Peterborough (16 matches) 7.14, Workington (3 matches) 7.76. 2019 Peterborough (13 matches) 6.37. 2022 Newcastle (1 match) 1.33.

  22. https://twitter.com/workycomets/status/1755225442150146291 Tune into BBC Looknorth tonight at 6.30pm! Our history-making Celina Liebmann is featuring on the programme… For those outside of the area you can view the feature on BBC iPlayer from around 8pm for 24 hours #championshipcomets
  23. Depends what is classed as a "concession", as unemployed might be classed as this. I take it, in the category you mean, it's Pension age.
  24. The "others" have signed their contracts, so whatever they've agreed to, is what they've agreed to, which means the promotion don't need to pay them any extra to what was agreed in the first place!!
