He was on the same machinery he rode up at Glasgow in the GP Challenge Qualifier, ex-Ludvig Lindgren gear.

Timed at just over 68 seconds. Only just beating Josh Embleton (in the ride Josh didn't fall off). He may be suited to a faster track, as he looked "the best of the rest" in the GP Challenge Qualifier up at Glasgow the other week.

Perhaps they were the only team that would come tomorrow? Just saying that that is a possibility, I'm not saying it as a fact. I'd much rather have Berwick back down than have another blank week personally speaking, if that is the case.

I was talking to a couple of King's Lynn fans before going in to the Fours and they said the last time they heard, Wilko's bikes are all ready and he's just waiting on a phone call from anybody.

Newcastle unchanged with Bandits using R/R for the sick Busk Jakobsen, which plays everyone in for the extra ride.

It's getting that right rider though. That rider has to be available and on the right average. Also the rider has to be sensible and not demand stupid money. This isn't Fantasy League speedway, where every rider is available and will sign, it is a lot more complicated than that.

IF it goes up to 40 (not sure about that, but no doubt someone will know!) we have 2.03 on the July averages (see my post earlier on this page - I wish the posts were numbered like they used to be!!!).

Some fans are never happy. As with previous years, we are near, but not quite there as a team, perhaps one rider away from being a good side (who that rider is though is anyone's guess!). High 30's+ on the road at the majority of tracks, a couple of early home defeats as riders got used to new surroundings and beaten by the best team in the league at home. I think we are in a false league position. Plus we have a Semi-Final of the KOC to look forward to against a team we seem to do well against on their track.

Very sad to hear about the death of Monarch's photographer Ron MacNeill. Always had a smile on his face. Condolences to his family and friends.

Unless you're Edinburgh, it seems ! Shambolic organisation. Nearly one hour to sign a rider in. Ran out of programmes (yes, I know they've apologised for that, but it should not have happened). Only one bin on the back straight (or at least, so I was told). At least they ran the meeting through swiftly (well done the Ref Graham Flint for that). Well done Somerset on the win.

I don't think guests are allowed. It just so happens I'm picking a Birmingham rider up at Leeds/Bradford Airport tomorrow morning and taking him down to the Fours, so he must think they are still riding!
