  1. I presume you mean Pelaw Grange, in which case, there are enough houses surrounding it to stop speedway being raced there IMO.
  2. A new venue was looked for years ago and they couldn't find anywhere near(ish) to Brough. Tsunami could tell us all about that! Cambois was looked into, but I can't remember why that was knocked on the head. It's not only finding a place to build a track, there is these days an insurmountable amount of Red Tape to plough through. Exeter springs to mind and they've been looking since 2005 (there are others who have found a place and then got no further, despite all the positive display of public announcements). Oh and as a P.S. Would the BSPA allow a track share? Bearing in mind Cradley and the like have been told they can't run while sharing a track?
  3. So, providing that "statement" is true, you would rather see Glasgow race in 2020 (what's left of it) and go bust and not return in 2021? Weird logic.
  4. Or are they just "toeing the party line"? Glasgow are the only club (so far) to put their heads above the parapet and say how it really is (for them) and I still reckon there could be more to follow.

  6. NO Gems in National Trophy in 2020 after all: https://newcastle-speedway.co.uk/newcastle-speedway-postpone-their-national-league-gems-season-for-2020/
  7. Tsunami is quite right, you can't buy them directly, the only place you can get them is if any turn up on eBay, or any other selling site like that.
  8. And this has got what to do with Newcastle?
  9. On a more serious note: https://newcastle-speedway.co.uk/newcastle-speedway-bid-a-sad-farewell-to-stalwart-supporter-and-backer-peter-gibson/
  10. Perhaps (if the claim is true) he signed the form "under duress" ? The claim from Mr Ford was that Stevie wasn't getting paid last year..... So I presume all is now good, as he was due to ride in our 90th Anniversary Meeting last weekend (29 March).
  11. 10.15 from 21 matches - 109 rides - 275+1pts - 6 full maximums and 1 paid maximum to be precise!!
  12. And what Mr Illingworth did to him that night! And also what Watt did at Stoke the same season.
  13. That would be Steve Hayward who stepped in for a week (or two) due to holidays (I think!).
  14. My (poor!) memory says there was two Centre Green Presenters between Andrew and Roy (but could be wrong!). Dave Allan was one and the other (who only lasted a few weeks) I can't remember the name of at the moment. No doubt someone will confirm (or otherwise!) this.
  15. Website says Centre Green Announcer will be Andrew Dalby.
  16. Practice Day + Press Day + 90th Anniversary Meeting all OFF https://newcastle-speedway.co.uk/important-information/
  17. Practice Sun 22nd Mar. Press Day 23rd March, but keep an eye on things as this may change. BUT... in addition Facebook statement: Unfortunately, with the current global situation with coronavirus, we are making the decision to postpone the press and practice social event on the Sunday evening, until the situation becomes clearer. We have not taken this decision lightly but the health and safety of all our staff, riders and supporters is of our upmost importance. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Further details will be released in due course.
  18. He's said it on Facebook: This is what he said (copied and pasted from his status): "Not the best start to a day, but life moves on and there’s more serious things going on in the world right now, to dwell too much on the news I’ve received this morning. Today I have been released from my duties as Newcastle Speedway Team Manager. May I wish the club and the riders all the best for the season ahead and beyond. There’s been no falling out. Just sometimes decisions have to be made, even if it’s ones we don’t like!"
  19. Ruud. Robbo was always great to interview (when I did the interviews for Bob Tasker/GRT Media). Ask him a question and he would just talk (maybe for not as long as Neil Machin would, mind!).
  20. It's a Pairs Meeting, but here are the riders Lewis KerrKevin Doolan Aaron Summers Danny King Jordan Stewart Paul Starke Ellis Perks Ulrich Ostergaard (unlikely to be there as he is stuck in Denmark due to the lock down due to the Coronavirus) Anders Rowe Sam Masters Emil Grondal Craig Cook Marius Hillebrand Michael Palm Toft Nick Skorja Andreas Jensen. There is also match races between Steve Wilcock and Geoff Pusey
  21. Wish I could, but my Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is limiting what I can do at the moment
  22. Sponsors announced: https://newcastle-speedway.co.uk/grants-event-catering-revealed-as-newcastle-diamonds-2020-main-team-sponsors/
