I have never been Newcastle Speedway Press Officer, so no. And to make it clear, the current Press Officer has decided to step down (and not been sacked, before anyone suggests it).
Newcastle Speedway is looking for a new Press Officer.
Ideally, this would be someone already a supporter of Newcastle Diamonds and who would be willing to meet the deadlines set for us by the local press.
We must point out this is a voluntary role and help will be given on all aspects of the post to make the transition as easy as possible.
If you would like more information on this role, please contact info@newcastle-speedway.co.uk.
Because when he signed he had a knee injury, which was "going to be sorted out" and he was not going to be the 9.00 (or whatever it was) average rider until he got his knee sorted. He rode three matches for us and was never seen again (until this season when he was in the pits helping a rider out!).
Taken from this week's Raceday Magazine (the Dave Tinning column):
"Next Sunday the 15th May there is no meeting as there will be extensive work done to our track by our track curators and by the Track Advisors at the SCB. We have a problem with the first and second bends as there is no drainage and the water is constantly lying there creating a number of soft spots and with limited access to the track, we are taking this free date to hopefully sort the issue out."
