  1. What has the weather been like in Glasgow (more accurately Springburn) for the last 24/48 hours ??
  2. It wouldn't be a new approach (maybe it would but only in Birmingham's case) as Berwick tried it for a few weeks when John Anderson was promoter. He told me that he would charge £10 a meeting "if he could" but it made very little difference to the amount of people attending and therefore lost a bucket load of ££. It might work for Birmingham as it has a larger catchment area, but the simple fact is, if you are not a speedway fan you probably won't be interested, even at a tenner and even more so if the team is a poor one.
  3. On the door price (i.e pay on the night) is £32. https://www.berwickspeedway.com/news/looking-forward-to-scunthorpe-and-kent/
  4. Yes, we know that, but that wasn't the question, was it? The question is would the council allow a 6 o'clock start??
  5. Not sure if the Council would allow a 6pm start, especially if it was going to happen more than once a year? Someone will no doubt know for sure. The rules used to the "senior" meeting has to take placed first, doubt this has changed.
  6. Double Header on Sat. Tickets now on sale at £30.
  7. Let's be honest, the promotion aren't going to do a Press Release at the start of the season and say "Sorry folks, but you've got a poor team team watch this season. We've got it wrong this year", are they?
  8. You would have to ask him that question. You would also have to ask how he was allowed to ride at all, as it sounds (I'm no doctor, mind) very much like he had/has concussion. Lewi Kerr came off in a spill last night and has an immediate "no ride" policy against him, surely the same should have applied to Erik Riss, no matter where in Europe he was riding?

  10. And, apparently, said afterwards it was a mistake to do so (failed to score from 4 rides) as he felt fuzzy headed throughout.
  11. Newcastle used to do it all the time, or rearrange the start time at Brough. Not so easy once they couldn't have the light over the speedway track though...
  12. Sanchez in UK: Glasgow (1999-2001)Trelawny (2002, 2003)Peterborough (2004, 2011)Hull (2004, 2005)Sheffield (2006, 2011, 2012)Birmingham (2007)Stoke (2008)Scunthorpe (2008)King's Lynn (2009)Redcar (2010) Taken from here: https://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/2580/emiliano-sanchez
  13. So in today's case, not suitable for NDL racing then?
  14. TJ is what he is. He can be very frustrating, from race to race, let alone meeting to meeting, as we witnessed when he rode for Newcastle. Genuinely a nice bloke, but that doesn't alter the fact he isn't a 9 point rider in the CL, 7-7.5 at best. Berwick, at the minute, have too many weak links in their 1-7 and will struggle to reach the Top 6 with it.
  15. No change there then. How anyone can watch that every week baffles me, it really does. I (rather stupidly) went up to Berwick for the Poole match last year, expecting it to be a good meeting. I think, from memory, there was one genuine pass all night. The track "improvements" were supposed to improve the racing. They clearly haven't.
