  1. Can't be a number 8 while his average is over 3.00.
  2. If it was agreed between both teams and the referee before the meeting started then it's all OK (providing one of them wasn't supposed to be at number one or a reserve by average).
  3. "A huge TV Premiere" . I know your trying to sell it... but come on.... at least be somewhere near to being realistic.
  4. I thought that they had brought in transponders to spot that?
  5. But you could argue that was against two of the weaker teams, could you not?
  6. And replace him with who though? Another 2-pointer who isn't ready for the CL?
  7. If he's not fully fit, why risk further injury and therefore making his absence longer? Seems a sensible approach to me.
  8. I'm not old enough to remember the Provincial League years, but, if there was enough support, could teams not form their own breakaway league, as was done in those days? Eventually the "Powers that Be" "gave in" and the British League was formed in 1965, maybe the same could happen again? Or, am I totally wrong?
  9. I don't know, which is why I asked. But I notice you say "he knew he couldn't deliver on," which suggests you know? My guess is that either Brough Park put a stop to a stage being set up on the dog track, or the Council stopped it (I know they they blocked the mini fair he wanted to put in the car park). As far as cost is concerned, it was going to be a band made up of his mates and others, so would not have cost anything. Anyway this is a Workington thread, so, apologies to all.
  10. Do you know why he didn't deliver on it?
  11. You could argue that it's not the lowering of the averages is the problem, but the way certain teams have been put together. I think the idea behind the lowering of the averages was to try and cut out the number of "big-hitters" in the CL. But it has had the opposite effect in many cases and there are riders who have come in to the CL who are not ready.
  12. Not correct. Cami Brown not a promoter at Glasgow, Gavin Parr not a promoter at Redcar, are just I can think of off the top of my head. Probably a few more that I can't think of (it's early LOL)
