  1. .... if they wait 25 years then it would still be a Jubilee year.... just a different monarch...
  2. Guest bookings don't count towards his average, so it would (while guesting) remain the same.
  3. Taken off Facebook: THIS Saturday (June 10th) the Workington GT Tyres Comets are racing against current League, Knockout Cup and Pairs Champions - the Leicester Lion Cubs at 3.00pm! FOLLOWED BY... Live music in the Marquee by the Mama Sang Blues Band The Comets are aiming to bounce back from last week, but will be without Elliot Kelly due to concussion. Come and cheer on the boys, it really does matter! Saturday, June 10th Tapes up 3.00pm Gates open at 12.30pm CASH ONLY (https://workingtoncomets.com/2023-admission-prices/) The Park and Ride bus service will not be available this weekend due to lack of interest.
  4. When, presumably, he will be back in the side..... so won't sit out Leicester as you suggest.
  5. Can't be a number 8 while his average is over 3.00.
  6. If it was agreed between both teams and the referee before the meeting started then it's all OK (providing one of them wasn't supposed to be at number one or a reserve by average).
  7. "A huge TV Premiere" . I know your trying to sell it... but come on.... at least be somewhere near to being realistic.
  8. I thought that they had brought in transponders to spot that?
  9. But you could argue that was against two of the weaker teams, could you not?
  10. And replace him with who though? Another 2-pointer who isn't ready for the CL?
  11. If he's not fully fit, why risk further injury and therefore making his absence longer? Seems a sensible approach to me.
  12. I'm not old enough to remember the Provincial League years, but, if there was enough support, could teams not form their own breakaway league, as was done in those days? Eventually the "Powers that Be" "gave in" and the British League was formed in 1965, maybe the same could happen again? Or, am I totally wrong?
  13. I don't know, which is why I asked. But I notice you say "he knew he couldn't deliver on," which suggests you know? My guess is that either Brough Park put a stop to a stage being set up on the dog track, or the Council stopped it (I know they they blocked the mini fair he wanted to put in the car park). As far as cost is concerned, it was going to be a band made up of his mates and others, so would not have cost anything. Anyway this is a Workington thread, so, apologies to all.
  14. Do you know why he didn't deliver on it?
