A Super 7even event and teams had to wear their own race jacket?
God forbid it being 'done properly' and making it look 'professional' with everyone getting the jacket supplied (as in the PLRC etc.)
If you have no luck before Sunday, then I could ask Barry Wallace on Sunday if he can help (I am sure he can!). If he can then he could pass the info on to me and then I can post the info on here.
First of all it was Birmingham vs Ellesmere Port (not Newcastle as stated above). Joe was riding for Ellesmere Port at the time and it was 1985 not 1986.
As far as Tom is concerned, he has his own Plant Hire business (also races pigeons I think!), which is doing very well.
Also Tom's daughter (Emma) is married Mark Lemon.
The 1976 (I think it was '76!!) team that rode at Newcastle included Jiri Stancl (George's dad), Peter Ondrasik(Pavel's dad), Lubos Tomicek and the two Verner brothers.
I used to have the programme, but gave it to George Stancl a while back and can't remember, off the top of my head, the other riders!
After a search on 'Google', there was a speedway story in 'Tiger' called "Tallon of the Track", which featured a female speedway rider as the main character.

Correct - it was PC.
During that bit Rory McGrath said to Gary Lineker "You used to go to Leicester speedway, didn't you Gary?" and Lineker admitted he had been "once or twice".
I wonder what the BSPA's excuse will be that there was only 15 riders in the 'most prestegious individual event' in the
so-called best league??
Time to scrap this farce of a meeting.
According to good ole Wikipedia he is 83.
Pleased for Lemo that it sounds a great success. He has helped turn the Diamonds' season round since joining us.
I don't think so.
I believe he has to ride a certain amount of matches to qualify (having said that, I have no idea how many that is!).
Maybe someone can enlighten us on that one!
We were told tonight at Newcastle that Derek Sneddon had agreed to ride on Saturday and that Jason King had also been invited - but he wasn't 100% sure that he could do the meeting.
