  1. Argh! Right! Misunderstood! Don't really follow the EL, so don't really know who rides for who! Only follow the Diamonds riders when they ride in it!
  2. So what is the situatiion regarding, say, Newcastle? Richie Worrall, Stu Robson and Ludvig Lindgren are all riding in the EL! As far as the Steady situation is concerned (Get well soon), as has already been pointed out, they can go with guests for the rest of the season if they want, but bringing in guests every week can be costly, for a start, and isn't the ideal situation (according to many of those who've had to do it in the past), so perhaps a new number 1 may be the way to go. Who that will be is anyones guess. Ricky Ashworth seems the obvious choice (although I've no idea how fit/close to fit he is), if he's not going to go back into the Berwick line-up, but would he want to go back to Owlerton?
  3. It is confusing! On the fixture list on the right hand side of the main page, it has it as a PL fixture. BUT, in the Fixtures 'drop down' at the top of the page, if you select July 2013, it has it as the PLC - SF!!!
  4. How many fans were there? 10% of the usual Thursday attendance? 20%, 30% 100%????? Not only did they voted for me to pay a "Donation" (for the two or three times I might have gone to the STMP for the rest of the season), but also for the Bears fans who weren't (for whatever reason) there. Was the fact they were going to have a fans vote announced before the meeting? If not, perhaps, a few more fans might have been there to vote against the idea. They certainly have a chance to vote against it for the rest of the season, as Yearbyred has already hinted at. I still believe there are better ways of raising the money.
  5. Effectively they don't. To guest as an NL rider, he can't have a PL ave above 3.00. So the likes of Steve Boxall, Jon Armstrong and the like are not allowed. Looking forward to this one, and hopefully the long drive down will be worth it (It's further than Ipswich and look what happened there!!).
  6. That was kind of my point. Newcastle are due down there in July (25th I think), and, to be honest, I might have to consider whether I come down for it, or not, simply on principle. I, personally, wouldn't have minded if, say, there was a 'Fence Fund' bucket as you walked in, then you could decide for yourself if you wanted to donate. Having to donate (and before anyone says it, I know it hits the home fans more), to me, isn't the way to go about it.
  7. I like the way they are calling it 'a donation.' I always thought that 'a donation,' was optional.
  8. That's one way of looking at it. Another way is, making the massive step up to PL, he had to spend a large amount on equipment and, possibly, can't afford to ride soley in the NL.
  9. Chewbacca is a Diamonds fan! I presume he was wondering how we have managed not to win our last 2 home matches and (perhaps) struggled a bit to beat Scunthorpe the match before those. But, well done the Diamonds on yet another away win.
  10. Are you completely mad? OK, to suggest having Royno at Scunthorpe, but to want to ditch one of the best PL riders, I think you must be off you trolley!
  11. In other words, the ref had a shocker for both teams. It's just that his decisions seem to have more of an adverse effect on Newcastle than it did Edinburgh. To my mind they cost Newcastle a 3 point "swing." As far as sour grapes are concerned (not you Mike, but other posts above), no, not at all (not from me anyway). Had the Diamonds gone through, I would still say the ref had a 'mare, as, as I have said, even Monarchs fans stood by me agreed. There were even Glasgow fans nearby, who also thought he made some incorrect decisions. But, as also has been pointed out, it depends where you are viewing the action from. Well done to the Monarchs in getting through and good luck for the rest of the KOC campaign.
  12. Perhaps "dodgy" is the wrong word..... How about "wrong" or "bad" or "bloody awful" (that's two words!). And yes, I was there on Friday. These aren't just my opinions, but the same opinion as the Edinburgh supporters standing near us on the third bend.
  13. 8 day rule? Or is it because it's in a different competition?
  14. I'm amazed nobody has mentioned the referee! He'll be most dissapointed.
  15. I'd say so, as they are the ones going out on track every week.
  16. Riders are always saying they want Air/Foam fences at all tracks. I think they may be in a position to have an opinion more than most fans watching the sport.
  17. Well done for being the first person to actually name names! I personally (my opinion, only, of course) don't think either James Sarjeant or Ben Hopwood are the answer. Charles Wright has never gone round Brough particularly well, and, on top of that, is he prepared to quit Buxton (a Sunday track, remember) to ride PL? As you say, he been banging the scores in for Buxton and maybe is earning more in the NL than he potentially would in the PL. Also, with respect, signing someone who 'could do no worse' maybe isn't the answer either. Surely we should be looking for someone who could do better?
