Workington V Edinburgh (pl) 9/9/13 @ 7.00/7.30pm

If you can't run a meeting in 2 and a half hours, there is something sadly wrong. Yes, accidents can happen, etc., etc., but 2 and a half hours should be ample enough time. Most (with the odd exception like Kent and Sheffield) midweek teams run with a 7.30pm start and I'd guess have a 10pm curfew and they, generally, seem to manage ok. -

The meeting starts at 7.30pm! -
I thought there was a few decent races tonight. Richie going in between two Lions riders going into the 3rd bend, when the Lions made the gate, took some b**ls. Lewi keeping the tactical Ricky Wells at bay for four laps in heat 5 and Ludvig's outside overtake in heat 15, all worthy of a mention I think.

A bit contradictory that (no offence). How do you tell supporters a meeting is off if they are at work? Newcastle, a few seasons ago, tried a great idea. Fans gave them their mobile phone number and if a meeting was called off they were sent a text telling them so. Otherwise "telling the supporters at the same time as everyone else" is obviously pointless in your eyes, as they are at work and not on Twitter/Facebook/Official website etc., etc.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but weren't the PL play-offs brought in because Sky said they would show the Final live if they did.... and then Sky didn't show the final live? I'm against the play-offs personally. Although, at least, the team finishing top this season will get a trophy, as in the last few seasons the teams finishing top got sod all. Different 'Kettle of Bananas' I know, but it's like the PLRC, when a few years back, Peter Carr won it after he'd scored 8 pts. The team finishing 6th could be crowned 'League Champions' just doesn't sound right to me, but we all know the rules of the competition before it starts and all clubs agreed on it, so we just have to get on with it.

Forget Adam McKinna. He's already said he's quitting at the end of the season.

Did George not say something about Ostergaard "would love to ride for Newcastle but couldn't because we are a Sunday track"?

It's all tracks inc NL for the Air/Poly Fence for 2014.

I'd have Lewis Kerr back, for starters (rather than Bunyan) and agree with Andy Tully also returning. Both dependant on their parent clubs not wanting to use them, obviously. Doubt we'd get Robert Lambert.

It doesn't need to be fullfilled at all. If there is a blank date then run it, if not, bin it. What I meant by it being 'meaningless' is that it is, in context of the season as there are official fixtures need running. The Tyne/Tweed Trophy is an 'unofficial' fixture. Either run it at the start of the season, or, when a date is available, or at the end of the season. I don't remember people losing much sleep over the Tyne/Tees Trophy being binned a few years back. Much the same here IMO.
