  1. Clearly doesn't work for BT then!
  2. Overcast, but dry at the moment. Met Office Forecast:- http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/byker#?tab=fiveDay&map=SignificantWeather&zoom=8&lon=-1.57&lat=54.97&fcTime=1381618800
  3. A lot of tracks share with Greyhounds who run on a Saturday afternoon. Berwick might have a problem starting a speedway meeting at 3pm as Berwick Rangers kick off at the same time at the same venue. It might be okay at some venues, but many would have a problem. Trouble is that's only two months! The other four months of the speedway season cuts across the football season. June & July are the only months where it's football free, but they seem to be starting the football earlier every season!
  4. The trouble with that, is, of course, the main majority of promoters only rent the stadium from Greyhound/Rugby/Football folk, so have very little or no say in what the 'stadium' looks like. There are exceptions, but the vast majority are rented.
  5. According to Plymouth's Official Website, both Bech and Jensen will be there.
  6. Does it really matter what the weather is like in Plymouth (seeing as it's only Wednesday)? The meeting is on Friday at 7.15pm! We are at Somerset next Friday, so it won't be next Friday.
  7. They don't like it up 'em. And before anybody says it I'm not a 'Stupid Boy.'
  8. The fact a rider had four rides in a row may have had something to do with it?
  9. That was his first blast for months! What do you expect?
  10. I make that a 10 man team!!!! It's all 'Fantasy League' stuff, anyway!
  11. That was, kind of, my point! At least we agree on something (not making a profit)! It wasn't meant to be an attack on the EL (but as this is a SKY thread, most of the money goes to the EL) as there are, no doubt, a few PL clubs in 'a pickle' financially. If that is through overpaying the riders, then it's their own daft fault (which was the whole point of my original post/argument).
  12. And turning that 'on it's head' it could also mean the fans aren't coming through the door as they did last year (or indeed previous weeks) which eats into the 'imaginary' profits that you seem to believe speedway has got. That budget (going back to the thread) being the EL cubs relying on SKY money and spending it before they've got it for 2014. Clever? I think not. I also did not say all clubs are making a loss. What I said was they weren't making a profit. There is a big difference.
  13. Says who? There's a whole lot more than riders wages eating into the profits of PL (or any League's) clubs. I'd be amazed if any club from any League is making a profit.
  14. Only if the PL clubs were daft enough to pay at the higher level.
  15. If Newcastle get all 4 league points they will finish second in the league.
  16. So why ride in the meeting? He was obviously putting himself in the shop window, so I wouldn't give up hope just yet.
  17. Cheers for that. So I guess Kus and Summers were 'done' under (e), as they moved forward the ref couldn't press the button. Of course he could have, but chose not to! Had he done so, he could have warned the said riders for moving, but chose to exclude them. The only thing is of course, if Lindgren did touch the tapes (as I thopught he did) he should have gone as well, as Tully had been, a few heats earlier!
