Last home meeting was Sun 12 June
-
It was after the Diamonds riders and management (and guests) were at a meal in Jesmond given by the Lord Mayor in May of 2009. He never rode for us again (he rode in 10 matches for us). He was replaced by Rene Bach eventually. During P&P he asked me what the Track Record was. I told him and his answer was "well, that won't last long."

Glasgow for one. Prob Poole for another.

Yeah, then have two teams each with seven heat leaders in them, leaving the "crap" for every one else. Not good for the crowds, I would suggest when said HL teams face the other team who's number one has a 5pt average!

Beaten to it by Janice!! -
It would make things simpler if all meetings (except Challenges) counted towards averages.

Erik Riss had three EF's in a row last night for Redcar. It can happen to "the best" of them.

Saw a lot more racing at Brough than I have ever seen at Shielfield IMO. -

You reckon? Most fans want to see a winning team. If they don't get that, they stop going and eventually the money stops coming through and you are then fighting against survival and, more often than not, that is a losing battle and you no longer have a speedway team. Another problem at Berwick, and it's only my opinion, the racing is usually rubbish, so you can't (usually) say "well we got beat again, but at least the racing was good". -

??? Have they (illegally) switched back to a Thursday race-night? Or have they moved up to the Premiership without telling anyone??? -

It used to be that you could change the riding order if agreed by the referee and the opposition. Not sure if that is still the case. -
Nobody (Ref, Promoters, anyone else) thought of telling them (at the time)?
-
Be careful what you wish for, look what happened to Newcastle last year.
-
If you are going to go to a speedway meeting "as a neutral", then the result is never going to matter! Now Newcastle has gone, I'm a neutral wherever I go (mainly Redcar as I find Berwick mightily boring) and don't really care about the result and hope I'm going to see a decent meeting. Last night provided that.
