Bandits Back To Berrington?
StevePark replied to bigeddiechek's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tell you what. Ring the phone number on the press release and ask. -
Scunthorpe Stags Vs Kent Kings (nl) - Sunday, March 30th
StevePark replied to lucifer sam's topic in National League Speedway
By the same token, should there not be a 'minimum' points limit? Scunthorpe's team total is 23.33, compared to, say, Devon, who's team total is 37.68. That's one heck of a difference. Having said that, I applaud Scunthorpe in what they are trying to do. The CL/NL has always had the problem of teams having a different agenda to others and, no doubt, that will continue. -

I think the date may give you the answer -
I didn't recognise him without his hat on!

How Would You Improve Presentation?
StevePark replied to oldtimer's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
And how many times have we seen a tractor 'breakdown' so that repairs can be made to a bike? Some promoters are aware if meetings are 'dragging on,' but some appear to be oblivious to it (my memories of how long a Stoke meeting would last when they were in the PL spring instantly to mind! I don't know if this is still the case now they are NL). We need all promoters to be singing from the same Hymn sheet, as it were, maybe a fine if a meeting runs longer than a specified time (like the slow over rate in cricket), would cut down on over long meetings? Barring major incidents, I can't see why a meeting can't last less than 2 hours. -
I've seen one or two of our four-legged friends at Brough, so it doesn't appear a problem. Not sure about away tracks though, so it might be best to contact the track you intend visiting beforehand to make sure.

Workington V Newcastle Sat 22nd March 2014
StevePark replied to ciderman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I intend to go to this one, but hoping the weather forecast is going to improve for Saturday. Above team line-up could be wrong, as Robbo had No.3 and Lewi No.4 Race-jackets on at P&P. -
If it's a reserve swap, you have no idea until it's announced. Although they may (the majority) look good, I'm for individual kevlars (mainly for the above reason, but other reasons too). Just my preference.

Peterborough V Rye House 18 March Challenge
StevePark replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You'd have to ask the person who decided to play it. It can be read both ways, either they hadn't a clue about the lyrics and just thought "This is a good song, I'll play it," OR they knew exactly what they were doing and had a smerk on their face while it played. -

"Peterborough Speedway Play the Rolling Stones"? What average does Mick Jagger have? Can only see a massive home win in this one! -
Peterborough V Rye House 18 March Challenge
StevePark replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It's not that long ago Boxall was a PL No.1, so not that much of a surprise, if he's on decent machinery. I wouldn't read too much into this result. Rye were probably strengthened by Bunyan's absence (still don't understand how a team can sign somebody and use R/R in official competitions, knowing he'd be missing) and riders are still 'blowing the cobwebs away.' It's just that Rye, apparently, blew them away quicker than the Panthers. Still a long way to go until September/October! -
I don't know if the rule is still in place, but it used to be against the rules to run a 'meeting' or even have races during an interval. The whole point of an Interval is to allow track work and while that is going on a chance for the track staff and fans to get a bit of food/cup of tea/take a 'natural' break etc.

Seeing as it was Sky who picked the date (therefore knowing, when told, that Ludde would be missing), they, I would hope, would pay the fine.

That's a bit harsh....... on Arthur Daley!

I'm guessing they are awaiting it to be 'rubber stamped' be the BSPA?

Premier League Forecasts

Liking your optimism Paulco! -
Actually, I wasn't having a 'pop' at Matt Ford (or anyone else), I was actually having a 'pop' at the rulebook.
