Edinburgh Vs Newcastle (23rd May)
StevePark replied to CaptainAudi's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So, ignoring the late withdrawal of Luke Crang, let's see who (PL) is eligible. Kasper Lykke (3.92), Oliver Greenwood (3.70), Joe Jacobs (3.37), Rafal Konopka (3.00) and, er, that's it from last night's availability. For future reference, others who qualify as PL reserve guests, who were unavailable last night: Liam Carr (3.00), Josh Bates (3.00), Paul Starke (3.63), Chris Mills (3.05),Roland Benko (3.24) Matt Williamson (3.00) and, of course Luke Crang (3.00). -

Why a NL guest for Schrammy? OK, we may be limited for choice, but we can have a PL guest (up to an average of 4) to replace him, as we did on Sunday with Berwick reserve Liam Carr. -

Newcastle V Redcar Pl (sun 18 May At 6.30pm)
StevePark replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Firstly, I hope Lewis Rose is OK after his nasty looking tumble. Secondly, well done Redcar on there thoroughly deserved victory. Thirdly, (some/many) Newcastle fans wanted an 'out and out number one' and got that. The only way to do that was by dropping two of the top 5 and bringing in a 3 pointer as well. You could argue until the cows come home which two, but I don't think it would have made an awful lot of difference (maybe Robbo apart). It's a gamble by the Newcastle promotion, but nearly everyone said 'changes had to be made' so rather than sit on their tails they made a change. -

Someone posted earlier this week that Liam Carr was guesting Schrammy (Don't know if this is correct or not, though). -

A bit of both, I expect, looking at the pics posted on Facebook. Looking forward to seeing the new-look 1-7 in action tomorrow. Redcar will be smarting from their hammering at Somerset last night, but I'm sure the Diamonds will be up for it. -

A bit like us then! Good away point for the Diamonds. Onwards and upwards from here. -

Nobody else seems to have mentioned it, so just to let people know, that may be unaware, Chris Mills guests for the Diamonds and will join other guest, Matt Bates, at reserve. -
Sounds like the same(ish) story about the county cricket team who went to play Glamorgan and they did the same to one of their 'Junior' players.

At the end of the day (well, season), it is likely to come down to figures/averages, whether he'd want to start next season or at Newcastle or even in the PL in general and whether Newcastle want him back. All, or some, will play a part.

Schrammy? -
It really is quite simple. Nathan Greaves would have guested on Sunday. Matt Bates (weather permitting) guests at Plymouth on Friday. Dan Greenwood, once rubber stamped by the BSPA, comes in in the re-declared 1-7 and can ride in that re-declared 1-7 as from Sunday.

It Is Time To Get Shot Of Mr Watt!
StevePark replied to Vincent Vega's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If he's 'knackered' in May, God knows what he'll be like in September, then! Don't even get me started on that one (or two!!!)! -
In this situation, I guess, you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. The forecast was pretty dire and, had they still ran, you can guarantee it would have poured down and everyone would say "well the forecast said...." In some resects it's a gamble either way, although if you read Tsunami's post, it sounds like it was a 'no-goer' anyway.
