  1. I thought there was a third rider involved, but couldn't remember who it was.... I just remember George shouting.. "There trying to kill each other!!!"
  2. He was 2nd in his opening ride, but took a tumble in his 3rd ride, which may have aggravated it, as he retired in his 4th (and last) ride.
  3. More often than not, the start marshall has them lined up correctly, but as soon as he walks away, the rider moves back. This, to me, should be an instant disqualification/exclusion. That would then stop any rolling, as they will be lined up correctly at the tapes. Alternatively, a line behind the bikes at the start could be implemented, any back wheel that touches the line before the tapes go up, either disqualification/exclusion or a 15 metre handicap.
  4. I seem to remember Nicki trying to knock Jesper Olsen off...... his team-mate..... at Press & Practice...... George English nearly had kittens/a heart attack* *Delete where applicable!
  5. Simon said on his Facebook status last night he was "pumped" for his "proper home debut tomorrow" so he should be riding tonight.
  6. It's the big problem for Workington every season. They don't seem to have any luck in that category at all, year on year.
  7. Banned for what? Not being able to get back for a fixture after an FIM meeting, the same as Lasse Bjerre? I don't think so.
  8. I started a thread at 1.30pm yesterday, but the interest is so strong, it's got shuffled down onto page 2!!!
  9. Quite a few seem to see the 'golden' tracks in Poland, but it doesn't always work out like that. No idea why it hasn't worked out for Richie, as I don't follow what happens in Poland (to be fair, I don't really follow what's happening in the British Elite League!). I've just never liked the idea of going back to a rider (same as in football), who wanted to leave. Of course we have done it before (Christian Henry, Dickie Juul and Robbo are three that spring to mind), but, I like the old adage "never go back!"
  10. I'm guessing you mean Anders Mellgren? He's signed for Rye House (replaced Mat Tres). And Richie is still at Ipswich and already said last season he didn't want to ride for us, so why go back to him (even if he wants to come back)?
  11. If it's 8.80 that puts us on 42.28, so only 0.22 to play with.
  12. I agree with what your saying, but, for whatever reason, we don't seem to want to 'juggle' the team around for away matches. I think having Robbo at 5 would help and put Ludde to 3, as we know Lewi K (generally) can look after himself. That could be suicidal if that's case. Fans (quite rightly) would be saying "if they can't be bothered, then why the hell should I."
  13. The post I was replying to was directed at a particular rider, I believe, not the team as a whole.
  14. So, we will just ignore the last two home matches shall we? I wasn't there, but was it not a case that no one else was worth putting a B & W on, as they were all riding poorly?
  15. With Belle Vue probably the only EL team in the North, presumably? Also, that'll be like the British Cup, that lasted all of one season.
  16. 8pm?? Hopefully he'll get to the track at about 17.00.....
  17. Simon was going to guest somewhere tonight (at Edinburgh for Workington, I think) but "pulled out due to signing for Newcastle and riding for them on Friday" so maybe Simon N rides for us tonight?
  18. OK, I'm going to bite.... (call me Luis!) It really depends on the situation. Perhaps Ludde thinks that if he tried to team ride, the chances are both him and his team mate might get overtaken by the opponent(s) behind, so rather than chance that happening, he "rides off" to guarantee the 3 points for the team and hope the said team mate can look after himself for any extra point. Team riding is a dying art form these days, unfortunately, and there are many who can do it.
  19. Local derby time at Brough Park, as the Banditos come a-calling. Simon Nielsen makes his home debut as a Diamond, after guesting in the past. Weather forecast doesn't look good, hopefully it's completely wrong, as fans need their speedway fix, if they didn't go to Cardiff, after a blank Sunday last week.
  20. Lewi Kerr got 9 from 4 (he had 8 from 3 before his last ride). I think (in my opinion, obviously) that is a good score.
  21. According to the Sheffield Facebook page, Nicki Barrett guests for the Diamonds in place of Schrammy. They are also urging fans to allow extra time for the journey due to roadworks close to Owlerton.
