Why blame Alex Harkess? All he is is the Chairman of the BSPA Committee. If you are going to blame anyone, you can't just blame one individual, you have to blame all the others too. Being independently governed might be the way to go, but, I fear, they (whoever they may be) would still be full of self interest, that's if you can find someone in the first place.

That's one heck of a sweeping statement. The weather and the fact it was on telly are probably the main reasons behind a poor crowd. And, as for British Speedway "badly" needing Ward, well that (in my opinion) is total nonsence. It can die on it's backside with or without him.

Who Will Make The Playoffs ?
StevePark replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I think it was before Peterborough dropped down that they decided on these extra fixtures. I have no idea why, once Peterborough dropped down, they kept them though. A bit baffling. -
I see what your getting at. A bit like Cricket. One problem I can think of is - what happens to all those who have season tickets and lose matches because the clubs can't/won't find an alternative/suitable date? As far as points awarded go, the home team could offer the away team dates, but the away could be unwilling to fulfill the fixture (for whatever reason), then, under your system, I think the home team should get some (or at least one) point(s), as they have made an effort to re-arrange the fixture. After all, it's no ones fault if it rains!
-
That would still botch the fixtures up though, as all you'd be doing is moving another fixture to later in the season.
-
Is there? Is that why the EL teams have 2 NL riders riding for them (don't be kidded by the so called "Fast Track System") and PL riders Doubling up, down and sideways? On your last point (fixtures), the rain/weather soon botches all hope of better balanced fixtures, which is why you have teams (in the PL at least), riding 2 or 3 home matches in a week and double-headers 2 or 3 weeks running.

Big scores at reserve replacing the scores he was getting whilst struggling. so 8, 9 and 10's etc., replacing 0, 1 and 2's etc., which makes a big difference. -
Oops! How could I forget our last (up to now) PLRC! I was thinking more of ex-No.1's still riding, so left out the likes of Paul Bentley, Jesper Olsen, Mario Jirout, Jason Lyons and the likes of George Stancl, Paul Thorp, David Bargh, Mark Thorpe etc., and also left out riders still riding for the Diamonds.
-
Before this thread gets totally buried down the list - it was announced last Monday that "several invitations" had gone out to former Diamond No.1's to race against Danny King for the "King of Diamonds" Trophy. Who would you like to see racing for the trophy? Names I have come up with are (in no particular order): Nicki Pedersen, Bjarne Pedersen, Kenneth Bjerre, Pepe Franc, Steve Boxall (!), Mark Lemon and Richie Worrall. I don't know if any of the above are riding in Poland on the day, though. The only (as far as I can see) rider riding on that day in the PL that can't make it will be Rene Bach, as Workington are at Glasgow, unfortunately. These are riders still riding. Have I forgot anyone?

Not necessarily. We were due at Berwick last week, when they changed it to a Double Header with Rye House and they put Rye on first and the Diamonds had to go second. -
That would depend on when they say the ban starts from. They could say a six month ban, starting in March 2015. They could ban him for two years, with 18 months of that suspended, so, effectively a six month ban, but, if he doesn't learn from that and he has more misdemeanours in the two years, tell him he will be thrown out for good. He then might learn from it (not guaranteed, I know).

Newcastle only have 2 matches left, Peterborough at home and Edinburgh away, so the maximum they will probably get is the 3 home points off the Panthers, as I can't see us getting anything (except a hammering!) at Edinburgh. -
Cheers for the info.

Probably on the other side of the world, as Darcy was 16/17 when he first came over to England. I Don't know if either or both parents came over with him then, though. Perhaps someone can confirm.

Clearly, decent scores are replacing poor/low scores. -
He might have deleted it?

One rule for Poole - another rule for everyone else?

He admitted to having a drink or two the night before. That doesn't neccesarily mean he was over the limit. I'm not saying he was, or wasn't, as I have no idea as to how many drinks he had actually consumed (and nor does anyone else, except those who were in his company all night). But that is an argument they could well put foward.
-
Sell out, or go t*ts up - simple choice.
-
'Dodgy testing equipment' could be their argument.
-
The difference (between Lewis Hamilton and Darcy Ward) is that Lewis Hamilton wouldn't.
-
It's turning into another farce - that'll be Speedway and farce in the same sentence...... Who'd have thought it??

Really? You think I care? Nearly every one of them has a mistake in them somewhere. It comes down to laziness (not checking what has been written properly), or a "I don't care" attitude, which, in my opinion, brings the club down a peg or two, from what the club are striving to achieve. For instance, I have read this post 3 times, to eliminate simple errors. Perhaps the person(s) doing the E-Newsletter should do the same.
