  1. With all the Doubling up, an EL track would hardly be neutral! Well done Danny King for getting the runner-up spot, one bad gate all night in the Final done him. Actually enjoyed the meeting for once, with some great racing.
  2. Can now confirm that it's a 5pm start for this meeting, having spoken to both Colin Hamilton and George English at the PLRC. I can also say the Ref will be Ronnie Allen.
  3. It's really helpful (or not, as the case may be!), that the Diamonds announced 5pm on Sunday gone, yet the Diamonds website says 3pm!! The BSPA website fixtures says 1500 (i.e 3pm) and the Glasgow website fixtures doesn't have any start time!!! I'm guessing 3pm., but will wait some kind of official confirmation!
  4. Don't get me wrong here, I do agree to a lot of what you are saying (as I have hinted at in my previous posts ), but, at the same time, I can't remember the last time we had this amount of riders pulling out of the meeting. Yes you are always going to have riders withdrawing (I'm thinking mainly through injury here), but to withdraw to ride elsewhere, does indeed 'stink.' What, I believe, the BSPA should do is make sure that this doesn't happen again, otherwise it will become like the ELRC. The only reason that I will be there on Sunday, is that I've still got a rain-off ticket from the GP Qualifier thingy up at Berwick and can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of getting a refund!
  5. I have to be honest, and say "so would I"!!! When it was announced as 5pm I turned to someone and said "Bloody Hell, It'll be dark!!"
  6. 1950's according to this: http://www.cjbalm.com/auto-aero/mitem405.htm
  7. Can someone confirm the start time, as I'm sure I heard 5pm over the P.A at Brough last Sunday.
  8. Just saying that there are two sides to the coin, that's all, bearing in mind there will probably around 20,000 fans at the Polish Play-off matches, compared to maybe 5 or 6,000 at the PLRC on Sunday (guessing at the figures, but you get the drift of what I'm saying).
  9. Someone thought up something similar a few years back. Home and away twice in the Groups and then home and away once against the teams in the opposite group. Top 2 from each group (A1 v B2, A2 v B1) in a semi final, with the winners meeting in the final to determine the League Champions.
  10. No doubt the Polish fans would say the same thing if the riders turned round and said "sorry, I'm riding in an individual event in GB, so can't ride for the team I'm contracted to in the Polish League."
  11. Wait for a bit longer? How long do they wait? They announced who might (as you put it) be in it just a couple of weeks ago. You will always get riders pulling out, for all sorts of reasons. Workington have (or at least will, from next season) gone about it the right way by saying "if you sign a contract with us for 2015, you will be contracted to ride in the PLRC." Obviously, we will have to wait and see what effect (if any) that may have on the event and on Workington signing riders, but very club should be saying the same thing, as the rider is representing the club, not just himself. I don't like the fact riders have had to pull out due to commitments abroad either, especially when at least one of those riders hasn't even rode for the club he'll be riding for in the Polish League Play-offs, but, until clubs take the same stance as Workington, it will continue to happen.
  12. When was the last time it was held on a Saturday night? With all the doubling up/down/sideways between PL and EL I'm sure we would have a similar situation. As far as scrapping it, as you're "sure it wouldn't be missed," lets see how many fans turn up at Sheffield on Sunday to see if, indeed it "wouldn't be missed."
  13. Workington have said that all their riders contracts in 2015 will have written in them that, if they qualify, they will have to ride in the PLRC: http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100372
  14. If they brought juniors in to replace them, it would be a substandard product though, surely? Fans would then 'vote with their feet' even more.
  15. A few years too late, but good to hear if they show them. Don't forget, the play-offs and Promotion/Relegation scenarios were brought in under the assumption that Sky would show at least the Promotion/Relegation matches live, something that didn't (and was never likely) to happen.
  16. The only conclusion I can come up with is that Mads K has been deemed as witholding his services for the match against Belle Vue, so, retrespectively, Lions can use R/R or Guests to cover, in which case he'll be banned for 28 days and won't be able to guest for anyone.
  17. Weather pretty lousy at the min., but, according to MetOffice website it will improve early afternoon after light rain at about 1pm, with further rain not expected until around 10pm. Any team news? Millsy out, so another guest needed, but Robbo should be fit, I hear, which is good news. Glasgow might have a change too. If anyone can enlighten us it would be nice!
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but if they have sacked him they have to use a PL/NL guest, as no facility will be available?
