  1. Overcast, but dry. Forecast is for no rain at all today (which makes a change for a Sunday!).
  2. There isn't enough 'decent enough' riders to go round, that's why you have riders riding for more than one club.
  3. It's common sense (a phrase not often heard within speedway) that Lewis should be able to ride for the Diamonds tonight, though, is it not?
  4. Now that Coventry v Swindon is off, can Lewis Rose not ride for the Diamonds now?
  5. What really gets my 'goat' is when there is perhaps a sun-delay of 15-20 mins a couple of crashes and a fence repair and some clubs still insist on having an interval! It's annoying when it happens at home meetings (for the home fans), but worse when it happens away from home (therefore for the away fans!) when you might have a 4 or 5 hour drive home and you're leaving at something like 9.30pm to get home maybe 1-2am.
  6. And wave at the pits as they make their way to the middle of the dog track..... At Workington, they have a 'proper' parade and do a lap on their bikes minus helmets, but riders aren't allowed to do any practice starts. I think a 'proper' parade with bikes should be made mandatory, unless there is a threat of rain, then just 'get on with it.' Also think clubs should be fined if the first heat starts late. At Berwick for example - 6.50pm parade - first heat 7pm. At Newcastle - 6.20pm parade - first heat 6.30pm etc.
  7. Vissing 7.24, Kus 7.39, so you are correct.
  8. Perhaps the damage already caused by the rain meant 5 hours wouldn't have been enough? Met Office site says rain beyond 3pm until about 4pm, leaving 2 hours for track prep. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcybsr236#?fcTime=1427587200 Oh yes, leave it a bit longer and have to pay full stadium rent, meaning a bigger clout financially, even if you call it off later.
  9. The distance from the track to the nearest A&E has nothing to do with it. Two Ambulances arrive at Brough at 6 o'clock every week for the 6.30pm start and remain there all meeting (unless one has to go away with a rider, of course). These are supplied by NE Rescue & Medical Services and come with a Paramedic. Two Ambulances - At least 1 doctor + at least 1 Paramedic, should be a solution
  10. Just as well seeing it took 2 and a half hours to run the meeting. Two ambulances and four docs at Brough the last two weeks, though.
  11. I thought someone on the Forum said at the start of the season, that the ambulance situation had been sorted? Best wishes to the injured riders. I was tempted to come up for this one tonight. Glad I didn't, by the sound of things.
  12. God I hate that averages page!!! Why don't they put the total for the month they are for, rather than the previous month's total??? You are quite correct! It's been a long day.....
  13. To build to 42.5 we have 6.61 to play with after 1st May? i.e 42.5 - 42.09 (current 1-7 Ttl from 1st May) = 0.41 + 6.20 (Anton's Ave from 1st May) = 6.61
  14. Totally agree. That is what it should be (there's various notices in the pits saying Parade 6.20pm First Race 6.30pm, but I honestly can't remember the last time that happened (except when rain has threatened and they've got on with it without a parade). A few times last night the two mins went on before the result was announced. I actually thought that was what is meant to happen this season, but clearly not last night. As far as the low lying sun is concerned, the old Tote Scoreboard might have been a factor in the 'old days', but not sure. But my main complaint is, why don't the riders wear tinted goggles? They do in MX, and quite a few of the riders used to ride in MX!
  15. Not many available riders on that (Anton) average, though, (I don't think), unless others can think of some.
  16. I'll attempt to answer that. I believe it has to be down to both. I would also like to add that 2 and a half hours to run a meeting is unnacceptable, but the sun delay (God knows who called the interval, as the rulebook states you can't have an interval before heat 10) didn't help. On top of that, I made it 8 re-runs last night, a couple of which could possibly have been avoided (?) and we had a repair of a air panel in there as well.
  17. Lewi Kerr will be at number one. R/R will (i'm guessing) be at number two. Steve W at 3? Christian at 4? It'll be close over the two legs (which, for some bizarre reason are nearly a month apart) and the 1st leg will be made harder by the absence of Anton. Ludvig and Christian (and the two reserves) can take the rides of Anton.
