  1. Which Kurtz? Surely if it's Brady, he could have got back, as Robert Lambert was in the same meeting and he's managing to get to Brough for tonight?
  2. Makes me feel old! Grandfather (Bob), Father (Michael) and now young Connor, I have watched them all in 2nd Div tier racing!
  3. Trying to find out who the Devils guest(s) are! The Plymouth website appears to be down, so any news would be appreciated!
  4. Flying back. Diamonds at full strength http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/speedway/newcastle-diamonds-new-no-1-11552033
  5. Extra income during Stockcar meetings too, don't forget.
  6. Newcastle don't like to run the day after Cardiff, I was just mentioning the blank Sunday's as Terrace Grumbler can't get to Monday meetings.
  7. Seems like you were knocking it to me. But, hey, if not I apologise. By the way, I don't see myself as one of "the usual types on BSF to spoil it."
  8. Currently peeing down in Gosforth. Looks like the forecast was spot on. I don't think they called this off lightly. It causes a massive 'headache' trying to fit the fixtures in. As I said in an earlier post, I make it 5 to be re-arranged (Scunthorpe x2, Ipswich, Workington and Somerset). The next blank Sunday is the day after Cardiff. Sunday 17th July is 'Reserved KOC - QF' so hopefully someone can come on that date. The weekend after is the Fours. There are no blank Sunday's after that until September. Answers on a postcard, please...
  9. Easier said than done (yes. I know your tongue was placed firmly in your cheek!). Not just the winning the lottery bit, but finding somewhere and getting permission to build a 'stadium' would be the hard part.
  10. We might not have a choice, though. It's a toughie, agreed, but I make that 5 fixtures we have to re-arrange now (counting the KOC & PL matches vs Scunthorpe as two matches).
  11. If you've got the facilities to watch two (or three or four for that matter) at once, then why not? Some people don't have the time to watch things 'later' and/or would rather watch them live. It's a personal choice. Yours just so happens to be different to his. Why knock it?
  12. If we can get someone to come, I wouldn't be surprised if we ran on the Monday. Beat me to it!
  13. Tonight's Double Header is OFF http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100555
  14. July averages: 1 Steve W 8.25 2 Robert L 8.21 3 Ludvig 7.27 4 Matej 6.91 5 Victor 5.25 6 Lewis 4.76 7 Danny 3.00
  15. For those who purchased online tickets for last Sunday's washout and wish to attend this week's double header, info here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100554
  16. Info now here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100554
  17. Perhaps UEFA could be persuaded to switch the fixture, so as not to clash with the speedway? Race Day Magazine, if you please.
  18. I hope the Met Office forecast for tomorrow is totally wrong! Looks bleak from 6pm.
  19. You can't really, seeing as 1997 was the year of six man teams! Some are saying it was 'cheaper back then.' I think you will find most things were 'cheaper back then.' How much was a gallon/litre of fuel, or a loaf of bread? The list is virtually endless. Is it less exciting than 'days of old,' or do we just imagine it is? Do we just remember the good bits and forget the bad bits from yesteryear? As far as the British Final is concerned, British speedway hasn't/isn't producing the plethora of decent riders like we use to. Chris Harris is the current 'second best' Brit in the Grand Prix and scored 5 points in it (I know he's failed to qualify for the GP's in 2017), Scott Nicholls did a little better, but finished last in the semi-final. Tai Woffinden (current World Champion and therefore 'top Brit') decided not to even ride in the event, which devalues the whole thing to start with.
  20. We are struggling to get good British riders coming through as it is, without clogging up the NL with second-rate Danes (or any other Nation). Might be good for Karger (and any others), but not good for British speedway.
