  1. I believe that is only for 'new' riders. Holub rode last year so can be dropped (I think that's how it works!!). Also, according to the Greensheets on the BSPA website, Holub has an average of 3 (which is an official average, I guess!).
  2. Wells paired with Simon Lambert (On Comets Facebook and Twitter)
  3. Are we allowed a guest or just R/R (only Stevie missing and not our number 1)? Not sure of the rule this year.
  4. Not sure about EL commitments (Summers for Leicester and Lawson for Lakeside. Leicester vs Wolves & Lakeside vs Coventry on Saturday), but Lunna is riding in the World U-21 Qual at Belle Vue. That may be the reason Glasgow not riding at Berwick??
  5. Home to Redcar Monday 23rd May at 7.30pm http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/home.asp
  6. You could, possibly, say that Holub was put into a similar position as Victor Palovaara was when he joined Glasgow. 7pt assessed average and thrown in at the deep end at No.1. Victor settled down when moved away from being a No.1 and now has a 5.28 average. Given time, Holub may well do a similar thing. The question is, do you give him that time and, if you do, at what expense?
  7. They're probably only going back to Berwick for the pies and burgers!
  8. Rob Godfrey has this to say: http://scunthorpescorpions.co/?p=5422
  9. Also, don't forget Victor is riding on borrowed equipment at the moment and, hopefully, will improve when on his own bikes.
  10. 2012. Second isn't 'winner' though.
  11. Of course. But it doesn't say when George asked for the switch to be made. It might have been in March, it might have been a couple of weeks ago. Who knows?
  12. The riders who are going to be riding in the event, isn't though.
  13. According to George in the Chronicle, we asked Berwick for this meeting to be switched and Berwick declined: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/speedway/newcastle-diamonds-missing-two-key-11294639#ICID=sharebar_facebook
  14. When did Mellgren win the PLRC??? I must have missed that one!!!
  15. He wouldn't be missing meetings though would he? If he wasn't riding for one, he'd be riding for the other.
  16. From Twitter: BRITISH Speedway vice-chairman Rob Godfrey is keen to explain why Peterborough's bid to sign Craig Cook has failed - Godfrey: "You cannot sign a rider when he already rides for a club on your racenight." "I advised Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone that any such move was unlikely to be approved." "King's Lynn switched from a Wednesday to a Thursday and as a consequence they had to lose Lewis Kerr (for the same reason)." "Peterborough are a... Friday night racetrack as in the promoter's guide and Craig already rides for Belle Vue who are also a Friday track." "Craig is more than welcome to ride in the Premier League, but not for a Friday night track." "If we allowed it to happen now, everyone would be trying the same thing." "I hope people, even our fiercest critics, can at least appreciate my explanation as to how this decision was reached."
  17. Surely he would be deemed as "withholding his services" and they could use a facility (guest or R/R)?
  18. It's an FIM meeting, so we should be able to have guests for both.
  19. Kus and Lambert both riding in the World Championship qualifier at King's Lynn.
  20. Palovaara doesn't ride on Sunday. Makes his debut at Scunthorpe on Monday (although it's been said that he'll be at Brough on Sunday).
  21. I guess that's your dry sense of humour? Or, more than likely, you've spelt desserts wrong!
  22. You can add Viktor Palovaara to the line-up for Monday. http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100509
