Sometimes (it has been known) promoters/managers get the track staff to grade the track when a rider needs extra time (usually to repair a bike or the like) before the next heat.

Riders can "demand" what they want, but the promoters don't have to pay it, if they feel that the "demand" is excessive.

As Newcastle found out to their ultimate cost. Really hope it works out for all at Worky. Used to love going across every Saturday night when I was filming for Bob (GRT Media) and Workington were always my second team (see where I was born for why!).
