  1. Mainly due to the fact they are up against (in the main) PL riders in the EL, whereas the NL riders at number 7 (but for two heats - 2 and 4) are mainly up against PL heat leaders, second strings and a half decent PL reserve. I also believe it will be six man teams in 2017, so how any draft system will work, God only knows.
  2. The last nine match reports have all been put onto the website on the night the match occurred. I could go back further if you want.
  3. Teams (taken from Redcar website): Redcar Bears: David Bellego, Tobias Busch, Hugh Skidmore, Jonas B Andersen, Lasse Bjerre, Jye Etheridge, Lee Payne Newcastle Diamonds: Robert Lambert, r/r for Victor Palovaara, Matej Kus, Stuart Robson (guest), Steve Worrall, Lewis Rose, Danny Phillips. What a load of rubbish. Previews are are on there on the day of the match (sometimes a day before) and there is a report on there either later that night or the day after a match. The reason there is no preview on the site for tomorrow's match at Redcar could be because Jeff King is currently on a couple of days holiday/break, but perhaps a preview will be on there tomorrow.
  4. Newcastle have first call on them as the K Lynn fixture is a re-arranged match.
  5. No. The King's Lynn match is a re-arranged match, so we get first call on Robert and Lewis. We will be without Ludvig and Victor though. Their Swedish team are in the play-offs. Simon Stead has apologised on his Twitter account tonight: "Felt I made progress over the last 2 meets but tonight was my worst in a long long time. Apologies to the club, our fans & my team mates." From what I saw of the meeting it seemed an OK meeting (I had a video camera in my hand/on my shoulder for the first time in about three years!!) and Josh Bates seemed to get used to the place and Howarth scored well at a track he normally struggles at. I feel sorry for Danny Phillips. They are trying everything to sort it out, but nothing seems to be working for the kid.
  6. First of all - Don't feed the Troll. Secondly - interesting interview with Peter Waite on the Berwick Twitter and Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/BerwickSpeedway/?fref=nf
  7. NEWCASTLE: Robert Lambert, Victor Palovaara, Matej Kus, Ludvig Lindgren, Steve Worrall, Lewis Rose, Danny Phillips. SHEFFIELD: Simon Stead, Dimitri Berge, Kyle Howarth, Josh Bates, Jason Garrity, Arthur Sissis, Nathan Greaves. Taken from Sheffield's website EDIT: Just announced (on Twitter) Garrity OUT (hand injury). Also here: http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.2144
  8. As expected, both Stevie and Robert are in the PLRC.
  9. Yet I thought that (compared to last time we were there) that the backstraight stand had fans more in it. Homestraight Grandstand was half-ish full. Lots of visiting fans also congregated on the backstaight (prob to shelter from the rain, despite rain getting through the roof!!).
  10. Bright sunshine. A bit of a breeze, but still pleasant (when i was out at 10.30am). Showers forecast for about 9pm.
  11. So, we are basing the 'hype' on one performance? Brilliant. Well done. I'd leave it to those who watch him regularly to base an opinion if I was you, rather than on one night in difficult conditions.
  12. Nope! Not hearing things! (Well you did hear it!!). That is what was announced by Dave Hoggart. I'd already written in 1st Rose, 2nd Kus and 3rd Williamson. Not sure where Hansen went over the line in that race, but he did it in his opening ride coming off turn 2 on the first lap, but the ref didn't see that one!
  13. Just received mine, so yours should have arrived in your inbox now, I would think. I wonder at how many other clubs is the KOC not part of the season ticket 'package'?
  14. Similar to when George Stancl's handlebars snapped going in to turn 1 at Brough. He says he's never been as frightened on a speedway bike. Another I remember at Brough involved Stu Robson against King's Lynn. He and David Ruud tangled on the fourth turn and both Stu and the bike flew over the safety fence. How he walked away from that, I will never know.
  15. OK. So we will just ignore the "NEG PLR" next to Danny's average on the BSPA NL Averages then!
  16. Is Danny eligible to guest for a number 7, as he's already declared in a 1-7 PL team?
  17. Better tell The White Knight.... who knows, he might come back and support the team......
  18. August averages: Robert 8.51 Steve 8.41 Ludde 7.42 Matej 6.81 Victor 5.25 Lewis 5.12 Danny 3.00
  19. Simon Nielsen is fit again, so should be at number 6 for the Bears.
  20. Roy (Clarke). Presenter at both Newcastle and, indeed, Redcar.
