  1. We thought that for the season just ended, but were denied by the fact the top riders were unavailable on those days.
  2. Would be 10.11 (7.22 x 1.4 = 10.108)
  3. Cheers Dave. I only get the Star very occasionally these days.
  4. Monarchs Chatzone Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/monarchschatzone/?hc_ref=NEWSFEED&fref=nf
  5. Away Sheffield 11+1 (from 8) and Away Glasgow 12 (from 9). Quite a few let us down when it mattered IMO. My vote:0 ! I'm sitting on the fence. Part of my says keep, part of me says let go. Don't think he's going to improve his average, he is what he is now, which is the part of me saying let go. He's pretty exiting to watch though and that's the part of me saying keep. Plenty of pro's and cons, as we seem to be finding out by the split of opinion on here so far.
  6. Josh G has signed for Tigers: https://twitter.com/TigersSpeedway/status/801934348488495108
  7. Mason Campton is back for 2017 http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100725
  8. I'm 53 (26 Feb 1963). Born in the Maternity Hospital on Abbey Road. Lived in Priors Path for the first 8 and a bit years of my life before moving to Newcastle (upon Tyne!) the week before Christmas in 1971. Still managed to see my first ever speedway meeting at Holker Street though (in 1973)!!
  9. Josh Bates confirmed http://www.sheffieldspeedway.co/news.php?extend.2222
  10. That is correct. I should have made my point clearer. Too many play-offs!!
  11. How do you know it would? Do you know the financial incentives for clubs moving up? All I'm saying is that the Diamonds Promotion aren't going to say at the start of the season "we don't want to get promoted," as that's almost saying "if we reach the play-offs, don't bother turning up, because we are deliberately going to lose." Which makes the season a waste of time, apart from the Cup, for the fans who are only bothered about silverware, rather than just seeing top-notch speedway every week, come win, lose or draw. If I read it correctly, if you win the play-off, you are promoted, as that is what has been agreed, so, see my reply to The White Knight.
  12. I doubt that that will be the message the Promotion will be coming out with. Quite right too.
  13. Apparently, everyone has agreed to promotion and relegation, so yes.
  14. How can you say that without knowing one single signing for the Diamonds so far?
  15. That'll be Mr Park (no 's') and I haven't put anyone 'down', just giving The White Knight the information that it's not only George English putting the team together. As for 'hanger on' we've been through all that before.
  16. His average in the EL in 2015 was 5.91. So multiplied by 1.4 he'd come in on 8.27 (I think!).
  17. He won the World 250cc Long Track Championship that year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OZHeC4WjXo
  18. Thomas Jorgensen has signed for Workington: http://www.workingtoncomets.co/news/article.asp?id=100723 BUT.... Dimitri Berge and Luke Chessell join the Bandits!! Copied and Pasted from Facebook: It's with great pleasure we can announce to you tonight that we are 2 steps closer to completing our lineup that will do battle in the 2017 SGB Championship! Please give a warm welcome to Dimitri Berge and Luke Chessell, both riders make there debut for the Berwick Bandits in our 50th great season! Dimitri Berge becomes the second super talented Frenchman to proudly wear the Bandits colours in recent memory. Dimitri is a Shielfield park track specialist with the Speedway world at his feet. Berge's ambition and never say die attitude promises to throw up plenty of spectacular racing in 2017! Luke Chessell makes his SGB Championship debut with the Bandits, Luke's all action style and consistently impressive scores in the 2016 National League made him one of the most sought after number 7 position riders in the UK and are very proud to welcome Luke to the Bandits lineup. Stay tuned in the near future for the final members representing the Berwick Bandits in 2017!
  19. Of the rest I haven't commented on I don't really know enough about them (I've seen Connor Coles twice, once in a MDL match at Sheffield and last year when he rode at number one for Plymouth and I'm not going to judge him on that!!). Obviously, opinions will be split, which is what it's all about. Interestingly, you haven't put Rob Shuttleworth on your list. I only say that because his name was mentioned at Brough Park by more than one person, throughout last season.
