I don't class riders (particularly home riders) overtaking slow opposition, or where riders have to make a mistake to see someone overtake, as "good races," which, in the majority of the races you are quoting (particularly the Georgie Wood races), is what happened (in my opinion).
Should the title of the thread not be something like "Women riders in speedway"?
Women in speedway leads me to think of the likes of Margaret Vardy, Barbara Horley, Gail Godfrey, Debbie Hancock, Joan English etc., etc., and that's just the UK.
Cardiff has one big advantage over every other speedway track in the UK - it has a roof, which means it's guaranteed to go ahead.
So, in thinking about moving it, it would be a major factor.
We came up with three names that could 'fit the bill,' two whilst standing waiting for the ambulance and one just after we had set off after the meeting:
Jake Allen and Stu Robson (as already mentioned) and one who (I don't think) has been mentioned and that is Nicolai Busk Jakobsen
Surely we have to get someone in, if, as seems likely, Lewis is going to be out for a time.
The thought of Ludde, Ash and the two reserves taking the R/R rides (especially away from home) isn't exactly a fantastic thought.
Perhaps they thought that he might have improved, more than he actually has? Or a whole host of other reasons, but, as mentioned, they listened to the fans and made a change.
Sounds as if I didn't miss much last night. Still I would have prefered to be there than stuck in here!
I think it's the first home meeting I've missed in 15 years (Trelawny KOC in 2002). Hope it's another 15 before I have to miss another one, poor meeting or not!
As they say " You can only beat what's behind you," and it's not really Berwick's fault the team they put out last night. But it's happening far too often and all its doing is ripping off the fans. But, it seems, no-one high up seems to care.
