  1. Perhaps they thought that he might have improved, more than he actually has? Or a whole host of other reasons, but, as mentioned, they listened to the fans and made a change.
  2. Sounds as if I didn't miss much last night. Still I would have prefered to be there than stuck in here! I think it's the first home meeting I've missed in 15 years (Trelawny KOC in 2002). Hope it's another 15 before I have to miss another one, poor meeting or not! As they say " You can only beat what's behind you," and it's not really Berwick's fault the team they put out last night. But it's happening far too often and all its doing is ripping off the fans. But, it seems, no-one high up seems to care.
  3. I actually don't care who the guests are, so long as they let me out of hospital for a few hours so I can get to the meeting!
  4. As far as i'm aware, we only have access to the track on the day of a meeting.
  5. So, what do you want them to do? Leave the track alone and just let riders keep on crashing and getting injured?
  6. Stevie, among other things, discusses his wrist injury here: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100736
  7. Here's an interview with Stevie, where, among other things, discusses his injury: http://www.newcastlediamonds.co/news/article.asp?id=100736
  8. I'm no expert, by any stretch of the imagination, but, if he's riding a different make of engine this year, will that not mean the set up has to be different?
  9. At least he didn't "retire," only to replace himself a few days/weeks later!
  10. New averages from 26th June Robert 9.65 Steve 8.81 Ludde 6.71 Lewis 6.27 Ash 4.95 Ben 2.44 (effective from yesterday 22nd June) Dan 2.00 Ttl 40.83
  11. Jason 'The Primate' Prime (or Jay Melrose as he used to be known when he second-halved at Brough!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kj4VGrFccCA
  12. 5 page thread already started here: http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=84452&page=5&do=findComment&comment=2979908
  13. According to Twitter he's riding on Sunday.... https://twitter.com/diamondspeedway/status/877253204362350592
  14. I see Ben Hopwood will (as from 22/6) have a new 2.44 average, meaning that he will go to number 6 and Dan Greenwood to number 7 for our matches against Workington on Sunday.
  15. I think Ludvig, is what he is now, a 7 point(ish) rider. Hasn't really improved for a few seasons. If you want a reliable 7 point man, Ludvig is your man, if you want a rider who's going to improve to an 8/9 point rider, I don't think Ludde is your man.
  16. Not what I've heard. They've gone with a couple of Under-21 riders as reserves (I can't remember who they are!!! I'm sure someone will know!!).
  17. Winning times: Ht 1 68.0 Ht 2 75.6 Ht 3 68.1 Ht 4 74.6 Ht 5 67.8 Ht 6 75.0
  18. Really? Jason Lyons joined mid-season, for a start. The team put together at the beginning was totally ripped apart by the BSPA getting their sums wrong and we weren't allowed to use Matej Ferjan. But, typically, we were told this just as all the decent riders who could have replaced him had all got team places, so were 'lumbered' with Mario Jirout (on a grossly inflated 9.00 ave) and also replaced Kenny Olsson with (the Aussie) Scott Smith. And at the start of the 2004 campaign we rode 14 Prem Trophy matches and won just the one. So 2017 is hardly "running parallel to 2004."
