Website says (Copied and Pasted from there): This unfortunate scenario is down to the priority of fixtures according to the International Speedway League Board so with the Newcastle club having no option other than to re-arrange fixtures to get caught up with a fixture backlog then scheduled fixtures take priority and Lambert will be in Poland for their end of season play offs. Newcastle co-promoter Alan Hedley said, "We have to get these fixtures raced and this Sunday is an unfortunate consequence for us. Just to be clear we are not releasing Robert to go to Poland but the ISLB have given priority to his Polish club without any recompense to our club." "The British authorities have tried to assist us but there is nothing in the current make-up of the rules which would ease our predicament."

The article was written on Wednesday/Thursday of last week. Things change. George was interviewed by Roy during the break for the air-fence repair (during the Newcastle v Scunny match at Brough Park on Sunday) and he said it was "Kevin Doolan and Aaron Summers at Scunthorpe, Danny King and Kyle Newman at Peterborough and Ricky Wells at Berwick."

We've almost got that this year (with the exception of Ipswich in our League and Belle Vue in the Premiership). We are more likely heading towards one league (not next year necessarily, but certainly in a few years time) , but a 'watered down' version to the one we had in 1995 & 1996. If it means bringing on the youngsters to help Team GB and British speedway in general, then it's the only option in my opinion.

I should have also added 'short changed' the thousand or so that turned up at Peterborough for the Fours last week, too. Not only did Newcastle possibly suffer at the turnstiles (although looking 'side on' at the crowd it looked to be about the norm.), they would have had to fork out more on wages for the riders last night compared to if Holder had ridden, due to the extra points they scored by beating Rutherford.
