  2. Daft question, maybe, but what has that got to do with Berwick 2024???
  3. How can they announce a signing if they haven't made one? I'm sure once they have made the signing and it's confirmed by the BSPL, then they will make the announcement. It will be as frustrating for the Promotion, as it is for the fans, I'm sure.
  4. Sign someone else on a short-term deal until the injured rider is fit could be a possible alternative, I guess.
  5. Max Perry signs: https://twitter.com/EdinMonarchs/status/1751175715100176716
  6. We (GRT Media) used to record the meetings at Workington when Graham was team manager/Promoter and was a delight to work with. Always honest in his interviews and very easy to get on with. RIP Graham.
  7. Quite possibly, but in those days (I'm talking mid-to-late-70's here), I seem to remember, a lot of people used to stick around, because it was a "proper" second-half, with all the riders from the main meeting involved.
  8. Which is why they were put on during the interval.
  9. You'd need more than that after you've paid the VAT. I honestly think that paying any rider £100 a point in the (watered down) Championship is madness.
  10. Certainly before Christmas...... ........
  11. He's often been given a chance in the Championship down the years and still hasn't kept down a place anywhere. Maybe in a weaker league he may do a little better, but I think there are a few riders ahead of him with more potential, IMO.
  12. Which, I guess, is why there are no "stand alone" clubs in it.
  13. Well, no it's not really. Speedway has a points limit, otherwise, what you are suggesting, the teams with money would be 1-7's of 7,8 and 9 point riders, while all the others would be 2, 3, 4's etc. And, as I keep saying, just because a rider "demands" a certain amount, clubs don't have to pay it and at the end of the day either the rider reduces his demands or doesn't get a ride.
  14. Could this be on the wrong thread, do we think?
  15. Lee Complin achieved an average over 4.00 in PL/Championship, a few years ago mind, but still.
  16. So, what do you want clubs to do? Go over budget by offering these certain riders "over the odds" money and potentially put the club at risk, or look elsewhere for riders willing to ride for the money offered?

  18. She rode for Somerset in 2003 (3 rides 0 points) in the second-tier (British League Cup, I think) first and it is/was her only second-tier match.
