  1. But it is his (assessed) average now that counts, surely, so they should have the choice, IMO.
  2. Castagna back at Edinburgh. https://x.com/EdinMonarchs/status/1869721989771894875
  3. IMO the bubble went "pop", for most, many years ago.
  4. Castagna confirmed, and as Captain. https://x.com/EdinMonarchs/status/1869721989771894875
  5. Patrick. A quick look through Google and I can't see anything after 2019, so I'm guessing he has quit??
  6. What do you want them to say .... "We've signed a bit of a dud, but hey ho" ????
  7. He can't be less than his original assessed average, so if he was on a 4.00 he can't drop below that, no matter how many official meetings he rode in.
  8. Don't think George Congreve has a British passport either, but he was still allowed to ride NDL in the same season as Pearson. I think (could be wrong) they allowed Commonwealth riders to ride in the NDL in that year (2023), but have since reversed that decision?
  9. 12th July 2025. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/scb-statement-nick-morris-3/
  10. Well, yes, but only if Foord was willing to be the "sacrificial lamb". Perhaps he decided it wasn't worth signing, knowing he'd be dropped, so waited until a full contact from another club was offered?
  11. Yes..... but which Michael Max ??? LOL
  12. The "problem" is, in my opinion, there are quite a few NDL standard riders out there, it's just proving a too bigger step up to Championship level for a lot of them. I think Newcastle tried 3, maybe 4 and none of them were ready for the Championship and I include Jack Smith in that.
  13. Sam Masters Oxford https://britishspeedway.co.uk/cab-direct-championship/masters-to-lead-cheetahs/
  14. IMO it's how it should and indeed used to be. Top riders in the Champ at reserve in the top league (or at the very most, second strings). But, sadly, those days are long gone.
  15. Could be. Maybe I can..... Could be.
  16. Most, if not all, ideas will have been suggested pre-meeting. Day two will be mainly just "dotting the i's and crossing the t's".
  17. They could always be "novel" and switch the pairings between home meetings and away meetings. But, for some strange reason, teams don't seem to do that and just keep the same 1-7 in their riding positions home and away.
  18. Probably more likely to be Keith McGhie, he's certainly been the Redcar SS "correspondent" in the past.
  19. Barker, J Thompson, Gilkes and Bowtell will all have a reduction on those figures quoted.
  20. Let's not forget, though, that Redcar were a Thursday track (even going back to the Cleveland Park days), but had to move off a Thursday when the Prem Lge took that day off them. Since then, Glasgow have moved their racenight to a Friday as well and they can race pretty much when they want, so why can't they move their racenight to a Saturday or a Sunday? What all this adds up to is clubs are unwilling to go 2H & 2A, simply because it means moving racenight if they are a Friday club.
  21. Perhaps they thought many would be away on holiday, so decided not to run on those dates?
