Spot on. "There's a shortage of riders" - why? - Because we have seven man teams - again, why? That's just one example of the promoters sticking their heads in the sand and pretending the sport (for God knows how long) is working perfectly OK. It's dying on it's posterior and has been for long enough now. What really annoys me is, when it dies, it'll be "the fans fault", because they stopped attending, rather than the promoters fault for not trying to do something about it.

IF the promoters aren't taking the sport seriously, then why should the fans bother turning up at all ?? Teams signing riders who they know will miss meetings sums the sport up. It's basically Mickey Mouse. No wonder the TV companies have washed their hands of it.

The only problem I see with that idea is, it's not giving all the sides riders some "semi-competitive" rides. Each team would have to have two riders sitting out each "round". Other than that it's a cracking idea.

Steve Worrall retired (as far as I know) - Richie Worrall still banned (as far as I know).

He's also getting track time at Redcar tomorrow night (Fri 20 Mar) as he represents the Diamonds Select side in the Tyne/Tees Trophy meeting.

I don't think the Car Park is the responsibility of the Redcar promotion. I could be wrong, but I believe the Council OR the Moto Park people are responsible for it (maybe someone can confirm this?)

Diamonds Select 1-7 named: Danny King, Simon Lambert, Connor Mountain, Victor Palovaara, Lewis Kerr, Kyle Newman, Alfie Bowtell. There will also be some Vintage races involving Jade Mudgway, Stu Swales & Stu Robson + one other who's name I didn't get !

They could just go along to a track and enjoy the speedway and ignore all the "faff" around the sport. It's still 15 heats (weather etc permitting) 4 blokes (typically) doing 4 laps (typically) and the team with the most points at the end wins.

All I know is various riders have been approached and, as far as I know, all are ex-Diamonds riders.

But that is the point.... he didn't miss a year, he rode in the NDL. As I've stated before this "non-professional" League is a load of nonsense - if he got paid he was a professional in a professional league.

If you get paid, is that not classed as professional? If it's amateur, you don't get paid?
