Was that an option ? - damn must have missed that !! - would have gladly paid a quid for that -
Looks Like A Record

The next time the GP is in Cardiff I suggest you spend time during the day speaking to people who are there for the speedway - you will find very that they are regular attenders of one or (in some cases) more than one club, very knowledgable about the sport - or maybe I was lucky and only spoke to those that were ?? Sure there may have been some 'big event attenders/glory hunters' there last night but the VAST majority attending were true speedway fans, or maybe to be a true speedway supporter we have to sit on our couch, watch it on TV and complain about the track, Sky commentators, the price of tea and the fact that the chocolate on Mcvities digestives seem to be getting thinner ??? -

Good - and double good - if thats how he wants to win 'at all costs' then not having over here again is a bonus IMHO - as someone posted earlier hes a drama queen - lying around on the track til the decision goes his way then pop up he gets not even a limp or a rub of his hand. The crowd let him know how we felt about his antics - what else could we have done - written to our MP ?? So the crowd were bullying a cheat - sounds about even then -
Referee Needs To Go To Specsavers

Spot on Steve....some real bewildering decisions, though when we consider the 'Danish influence' its seems there is a preference to one Dane before the other. Bjarne was really impressive last night, showed what he was capable of - hope he has a dip of form when hes at Brandon though... -

Looks like we witnessed that tactic last night, the ref failed to spot it but the crowd did (and by Adams' quote seems the rider are aware of it too) - hence the frustration & the booing. -

Well Ive just raced back from Cardiff and as the screen we were looking at was bust so we did not have the benefit of replays at the event so could only base our opinions on the live action - the screen we were behind was working and the crowd were not pleased with a certain Danes antics...nuff said here about it already... but certainly a couple of head scratching decisions..... Let me ask a few questions here : If the bikes go round the track in an anti-clockwise direction, what direction do the track grading tractors etc normally go round in ?? - cos for the last 2 track gradings they went in the opposite direction thus pushing all the shale towards the outer barrier leaving bugger all on the inside and middle of the track - now who is it that normally like slick tracks ? , and who is responsible for track prep - and their nationalities are ???? Great atmosphere tonight - some good tongue in cheek choices of snippets of music too - it will be a bit of a comedown to go to Brandon on Friday after tonight. -
Just has a look at the ones in my backpack - 3 different makes/brands - all flammable. I wonder if this is a genuine safety concern or an excuse to make more money inside the stadium - cos whatever they sell wont be price competitive Are there any more restrictions we should be aware of ? - can we bring our own food & water ??

Cardiff Gp Racecard

very nice layout but its difficult in normal light to differentiate between white & yellow - so what chance in the stadium ?? - will the riders really be wearing pink helmets or has someone got some funny colour set up ?? so thats Holta 1 Pedersen 0 -
And there is the most spot-on post in this thread - who you got your money on then young Paul ??

Best just to note that Cardiff is in Wales - the locals, while being very friendly types, may not take too kindly to being called English -
My dad used to take me to both Monarchs & Tigers meeting when I was a lad - so it was George Hunter, Reider Eide (sp?) and Charlie Monk for me as speedway heroes- old age affects memory but I seem to remember George Hunter getting lots of max's

World Final V Grand Prix
paulr replied to longlivefrankie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Does Poland really pay more than UK ?? - I dont really know personally But I was speaking to a Polish guy at the world cup meeting at Brandon recently (after he nearly fell over at the admission price) he was saying that entrance fee to a Polish club meeting is about £4 - £5 so either they are getting a heck of a lot of bodies in at meetings, they have much better sponsorship and TV deals, or can run their club more efficiently than UK promoters if they can pay big buck salaries - any one know ? -

Track Curator For Tomorrow?
paulr replied to Sir Jasper's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can understand that a track may be prepared in a certain way for a 'neutral' event like tonight But surely a track is prepared each week as how the home club/riders want/prefer it ?? - would a promotion allow itself to have its play-off ambitions jeapordised just because a new track prep guy comes along and prepares the track his way, and his way only ??
