British Grand Prix 2012

A great spectacle again though some of the 'racing' was a bit pedestrian. Pleased for Holder and it makes the next GP meetings interesting. What spoiled it for us was when leaving the stadium the 11 or 12 Polish cretins that waded into 3 guys just because of the colour of their skin - including stamping on their heads when on the ground and abusing the folks that moved in to break it up - sadly no stewards or police nearby. These cretins can f-off back to their 3rd world country with their 3rd world attitudes and never come back - on 2nd thought Im being unkind to 3rd world countries by comparing them to that Polish racist scum -
Cheers - should be good for those that moan about the Sky presenters too

I know this is ahead of your plan, but is the intention to get a track going in the Tamworth area ? -

We were on turn 4 and couldnt hear a word either - I just thought it was because we were in the cheap seats !! Im so glad I printed of a couple of the Kandysoft ones prior to leaving - I just used that and gave up with the programme. A good meeting and a great atmosphere but I also felt the attendance was down - the upper tier of the start straight was virtually empty - though maybe there were more peeps on Turns 3&4 than usual to balance it off ??? Would someone please tell our visitors waving red & white flags that beer is for drinking not splilling all over the place or, worse still, throwing - as one moron did with his beer and managed to annoy about 30-40 people in front of him -
Anyone know where there is a reference to the ticket categories and the seating plan ? ie what/where is a category 5 ticket ? - I can find out how much each ticket category is and I can find a seating/section plan but nothing that tells you where the various categories are in the stadium. Thanks in advance

Frome HSE.gov : " You might just notice a 3 dB change in noise level, because of the way our ears work. Yet every 3 dB doubles the noise, so what might seem like small differences in the numbers can be quite significant." As I recall the Db scale is logarithmic so SCB is correct in the X + Y analogy. Two years ago a couple in front of us had a very small kid with a proper set of ear protectors on - yet when the noise got loud they would whip the protectors of the kid so the kid could hear how loud it was.... kinda defeated the object eh ? I had my ears ringing from cardiff in 08 on the Saturday followed by going to the My Bloody Valentine gig in Manchester the following night (including a prolonged white noise spell during 'You make me realise') - my head was buzzing for days

Cardiff The Greatest Show Earth
paulr replied to willstaxi's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I really enjoy it (though sadly wont be there this year ) but its the experience of lots of people in the street supporting speedway which for one day makes you forget its not such a minority sport, the winding the Poles up when their heroes fail, the atmosphere, the air horns, the panto villian that is Pederson. Its meeting people from other speedway teams and members of the forum - though usually Midnight Lady has done all the intros at Monarchs away meetings - its the build up to the start, the feeling that Im attending a big time event - yep even bigger than home meetings at Brandon.... -
QUOTE (Rob B @ Jun 13 2009, 09:05 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but how many passes did we have very few. About 4 ? - I missed heat 1 and excluding any T1/T2 passes, it was til about H13 before I saw a pass. Great riding no doubt but not great racing

You couldnt make it up - absolutely ridiculous. Are they seriously trying to say that in a country the size of Germany they cant get local shale and it has to be imported ??

No editing apart from the application of bold - so is reasoning actually required ?? -

I thought there was some sort of cash incentive involved that may entice a PL team to make the step 'up' to EL ?? Allen rode to his ability I felt - he was riding at a level above him and did what I expected of him. I just hope that its not sink or swim for young Tai - we need to have people in the pits helping and supporting him. Sometimes playing at a level above what you are used to can be a great incentive to encourage/force improvements or have the opposite effect of losing confidence - I dont know Tai (or anything about his character) I hope that it will be more of the former than the latter for him. -
Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
paulr replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
At last - amongst all the bile is a thread that hits the nail on the head - at present we simply are not good enough. Last night we had a couple of guys painfully 'performing' at a level above them - we shouldnt be surprised we can see the skill/class gulf each week in the EL and how British riders dont consistently perform at GP level. If there were 10 races between Nicki & Bomber - how many times would you expect to see Bomber win (not many I would guess would be the answer from most) - so why do we expect our riders to suddenly find the skill necessary to win against some of the worlds best , just cos its at Coventry and because we wave a few flags ??? As a meeting it was boring - filling in the programme after lap 2 isnt my idea of entertainment - I saw great riding, but poor racing also only a couple of heats were ones that you could say were exciting - if this is speedway at its best then I worry for the future of the sport. Bizzarely, after watching 10-11 heats on Sky repeat last night it didnt look as bad on TV as it did live... -
Depends on your definition of ripped off - and given the hyper inflated F1 GP prices I would imagine that £8 would be more like £10 yesterday

Im confused - does it fully close to be 'weathertight' or not ??

What do you mean 'sometimes' ???
