  1. Sky Sports News reported just before 6pm that the drivers were in the garage! OMG Bomber said he would be riding one or other of the two bikes he had with him
  2. What has annoyed me immensely is the self-induced problem the the doubling up system has brought, creating the need for guests to replace double-uppers on a continual basis If they remain in a future two league set up, please can there be sufficient double- uppers within an "Elite" league team squad to avoid the need for guests
  3. Not forgetting the Donkey Derby "one lap carrot start"
  4. Back in the local paper again http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/coventry-city-miss-eight-week-target-6039709
  5. If we continue to have the league structure as at present, what needs addressing urgently is the "doubling-up" situation Whilst I applaud to opportunity for riders to earn more money and gain more track time and experience, the way it is set up at present causes more guests and r/r's than anything else in British Speedway - a self-inflicted wound, I would say It could work very well, but it needs reorganising
  6. And for those of us . . . . . . ? Which train is this, by the way? Savoy Brown's by any chance?
  7. And for those of us whose first language is English . . . . . . ?
  8. Why wasn't Matej Zagar riding for Czech Republic? Or couldn't he have guested for Great Britain on Thursday?
  9. Why on earth do we have to have this wretched title "Team GB" AFAIK the teams at Kings Lynn were : Denmark, Australia, United States of America, and . . . . . Great Britain It's Great Britain, folks, not Team GB!
  10. Confirmed - it was on the site of the former petrol station in Binley Woods between A46 and Roseycombe, Rugby Road
  11. Absolutely brilliant coverage by British Eurosport - hope it can long continue, and expand into league racing as well Just two small points, though . . . 1. I think I'm right in saying that in all the GPs so far, including Cardiff, they have cut to a break immediately after showing the Heat 20 result, without showing the final cumulative scores to that point - which is perhaps the most important item that they should be showing 2. Sophie Blake failed to ask any of the riders "how important is it?"
  12. Don't forget, there were heavy tyres as well !!!

  14. I'm sure that back in 1958 Nigel was well underrated compared to the fine England No 1 he was to become in later years
  15. Blackbird Road Ray Wilson Erik Gundersen Hans Nielsen Nigel Boocock
  16. Reminded me of one of my all-time favourite moments at speedway when it was played at the Olympic Stadium, Wroclaw, in September 1970 - happy days!
  17. There's also interesting shots of the stadia at Lythalls Lane, Coventry, and Blackbird Road, Leicester - well worth a look
  18. How would the squad system have helped on Monday if the rest of Belle Vue's squad were also marooned due to the airline problems? If they were any good, that is!
  19. Quite right - the percentages for multiple answer questions should have been calculated on the number of people who filled in the questionnaire - so the percentage for Cardiff would be 75.9% and other GPs 32.3%
  20. When I saw the headline I felt sure it was news of the dreadful Peter York leaving Brandon
  21. How about Antal Kosco 17pts from 6 rides for Bradford at Coventry, 1992?
