I took grandson to new Wembley just before Covid. There was a small speedway display, with a repeating film the wrong way round!

Blackbird Road, Shay, Dudley Wood, Hyde Road, Brandon - not in any particular order

But it’s not 2nd tier now - no difference between Prem and Champ

Such sad news. Was concerned at his recent absence from this forum. A big loss to the speedway family, and of course to his own family. RIP Philip.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind!!

Lots of mentions of grasstrack riders. How many “progress” successfully to shale? Stand-out grasstrack riders like Wajtknecht and Shanes came over full time. Neither set the house on fire.

Always stayed for the second halves at Brandon…. and the third halves!!!

Disappointed to see that Sky Blues in the Community have supported Brandon Estates’ plan for a 3G pitch - the supporting letter signed by former player David Busst

Re 1951 - irrelevant. The winner was the rider with the most points, not he who won the most races. Still cannot fathom out why they moved away from the winner being decided over 20 heats, where every rider races against all the others. That’s the wretched circus for you, though.

Definitely remember his name, but I don’t think I bought anything from him directly. I did buy a few pre-war programmes at Wembley in 1970.

Had a lot to say, then nothing. Just curious as to why.
