  1. Once again Mr Shoveller has come onto the Coventry thread, and failed to add anything useful to the discussions, even giving factually incorrect information What?
  2. Nitpicking (or knitpicking as Mr Shoveller calls it) - it's Coventry Stadium, not Brandon Stadium, even though the website calls it wrong
  3. If you turned right at TGIs coming back from Grantham, you will have been heading into Coventry, so it can't have been Coventry Stadium you saw - perhaps it was Copsewood Sports Ground Just proves that one can't believe a word you write! Shove off!
  4. These photos smack of propaganda to me - only showing "the good bits"I admire Jeff's speedway photos but there's something not right here Show us the track, fencing, shale, floodlights, circuit wall, main stand viewing areas . . .
  5. Thanks, Neil Watson, for making a comment - which shows that, as yet, there is nothing concrete to tell, because it is complex Hopefully Mr S Shoveller will understand this, and now shove off and stop populating this Coventry thread totally unnecessarily And trophies for the Blue Riband 1-2-3
  6. bluebee puts it much better than me in his post above
  7. What niggles members most, apart from the Blue Rinse clan taking over virtually every thread on here, is their continued total denial of their management's year-in year-out manipulation of British Speedway in their favour There can be little or no admiration for their on-track success, the way it has been achieved One also remembers comments like "it is a contact sport" from their muddling team manager; his unbelievable support for the misdemeanours off-track of Darcy Ward; their reaction to losing in 2010 to Bees Oh, and by the way, have the trophies for the Blue Riband 1-2-3 shown up yet? Bees and others are not jealous of Poole's success, just p155ed off with seeing how they go about obtaining it Stick to your own threads on here, or your own forum, and we'll join in their discussion - leave everyone else's threads on-topic and join in accordingly
  8. Stick to it, then, and leave this one alone
  9. Can't Poole shove off onto a forum of their own, and leave the rest of us on here to get on with our lives - please
  10. THAT would be Philippe Rising and . . . erm . . . can't think of anyone else (capital letters carefully used for the first word)
  11. I'll stick my with consistent thought that the current decline - there have been others in the past from which some level of recovery was made - began with the creation of Ole Olsen's Flying Circus (what has become known as GPs) and the introduction of live televised speedway I am absolutely sure that the main reason for falling attendances in the UK is the fact that devotees, and potential new fans**, can watch (what was Elite League) racing on Monday night, Swedish League on Tuesday night, and a GP or European Championship on a Saturday night, all live and in the comfort of home, pub or club Previously, to watch, you had to attend ** I'm also sure that potential new fans are dissuaded from attending in person, when they see the start line shenanigans, hear of riders guesting and doubling up/down etc etc - if they had just gone to their local track they would more than likely enjoyed the thrills, spills and smells of the racing ahead of anything else Yes, the stadium conditions for the paying public leave much to be desired and may well have also had an impact My 7 year old grandson, and his cousin who is 9 - they have all the gadgets and gizmos you would expect - absolutely loved their first ever visit to speedway last season, and keep on asking when will we be taking them again
  12. This thread is "SGB Premiership Speedway League", but the next two are "SGB Championship League Speedway" and "National League Speedway" Shouldn't there be some consistency, "speedway league" or "league speedway"?
  13. Wonderful to see black leathers, race bibs, helmet colours - and no gardening at the tapes
  14. I presume the Track Shop won't be open tomorrow as it usually is pre-Christmas
  15. On "Does Speedway have a future" on Speedway discussions: Posted 07 December 2016 - 12:35 PM Pieman72, on 07 Dec 2016 - 10:44 AM, said: Unfortunately Coventry Speedway is no more fixtures, fittings and shale have all been removed. housing will be built on the site and speedway will be no more. Fundamentally profitability entertainment and survival is the crucial situation. To fight off housing propectors, the sites must turn in a profit. I'd rather have a full stadium with £10 per head than £18 and an empty one. It would be more profitable, draw an analogy between the discount supermarkets and the big four it can't be clearer. Same products but without the frills. Could you guarantee a full one though?

  17. Back on the virtually illegible font again! It's not very pretty, and it's not very easy to read
