  1. Sorry, but OOFC seems to be in decent shape, and can look after itself, whilst UK speedway is at rock bottom I'd rather see the latter improved, for all the supporters and riders in this country, those with clubs and tracks and those without
  2. I shall view it as it's speedway Hope it's a good meeting, riders all safe Will be cheering for Doyley and Emil I don't believe it's compulsory to support Woffinden or Cook
  3. Judging by the coverage, there seemed to be one short - or was it just down to poor direction?
  4. Our main consideration should be UK speedway - let OOFC do what ever they want, its immaterial to the future of the sport here We need OUR basics putting right - and NOW
  5. As well as the juniors/novices/reserves races, there were the Rider of the night heats and final, which produced some terrific individual racing, where team colleagues battled against each other So there'd be a mix of team and individual speedway during the meeting A suggestion I've made previously - standardise the Rotn races, three heats, winners and fastest second to the final (as it used to be), and then accumulate the points from the finals throughout the season to decide qualification for "BLRC" end of season event Makes those races more meaningful, and ensures rider participation post-interval
  6. Nobody left AFTER heat 10 - does that mean they're all still in there?
  7. Yes, but there were two ways of going about it - the right way, and the wrong way Holder chose the wrong way, hence his punishment
  8. No.3 seems to contradict no.5 - if there's one big league, no.5 doesn't apply I agree with no.1 re averages I agree with no.2 - I would revert to the old tac sub rules No.3 yes - been calling for that for ages - and only for those committed to full time UK participation No.4 - couldn't give a toss about Ole Olsen's Flying Circus - we need to get UK speedway sorted, and we do that by standing on our own two feet - those who don't want to ride here can go and do whatever they want elsewhere
  9. I asked him that - and he hasn't been able to answer it
  10. Can you name one more? And why "fortunately"?
  11. Riss caused the stoppageInteresting comment from Kelvin about possible changes in machinery being considered - I think that's what he said
  12. Good grief - anyone remember how good Blackbird Road was! This place is dreadful
  13. Shouty suggested he did so as he thought it was the opposition
  14. If you're being paid on points scored, surely you're entitled to try and beat your teammate for third place?
  15. In those circumstances, Rogers was unlikely to be complimentary about CO or anyone connected with MSS CO was the "face" of MSS, promoting the sport on their behalf
  16. Yes, what I posted was in the "Coventry Stadium Sold" thread, hence that reference Mr Ochiltree was A director and a MINOR shareholder - it was a business decision taken by the company in which he was involved, but most certainly not in a position to sell Blackbird Road - or Custom House before that The company's day-to-day operations, in which the Ochiltrees were involved, included the running of speedway and stock cars, and printing for sports bodies - their role was not in the sale of land and buildings The wealth lay in the hands of the Sanderson family through several generations That's Brandon - the topic is centred around Blackbird Road from years before
  17. #213 Coventry Stadium Sold: post #213 Humphrey Appleby Posted 24 February 2014 - 07:53 AM PHILIPRISING, on 24 Feb 2014 - 05:15 AM, said: WASN'T it the Sanderson family who actually owned the stadium rather than the Ochiltrees themselves? It's been discussed umpteen times on here, but from recollection the Ochiltrees were minor shareholders and it wouldn't have their decision.
  18. And until relatively recently, speedway wasn't "win at all costs"
  19. Even so, how can there be any satisfaction with this debacle? Is there no concern about the sport?
