  1. Not a lot To me, Doyle / Worrall won the main events, Zagar / Morris won the "second half scratch race/rider of the night finals" If they're so good - these add-on races - let's have them back for the second half of BL meetings, like we used to see
  2. Nothing against Morris who's had a good season - followed his progress since he first appeared for Bees - but Worrall beat all the other riders, finished five points ahead of Morris Sorry, but that ain't right to me
  3. Another travesty and miscarriage of justice When you have an infallible system where every rider meets each of the others once, why on earth is the rider who amasses the highest number of points no longer the winner of these individual events Tonight Worrall was THREE points clear of the rest of the field, yet Morris and Harris finish first and second It's fine to say the riders know the rules and regulations before racing But it is an injustice to fair play I'm a Bomber fan but I would have said exactly the same had he won heat 22 The champion tonight should be Worrall
  4. Natalie and Steve will probably be able to interview every single spectator
  5. Are you saying that 8 clubs (those who don't qualify for the play-offs) would have just eleven home meetings in the season, spread over 22 weeks? More ammunition to get out of the speedway attending habit, I'd say That would bring the end of British speedway even closer than it may be at the moment

  7. "Throw in a couple of local riders"? More farce-making for the "circus"
  8. That should be the priority in the decision-making The fans won't either - they want stability, to know which their speedway night is Not Monday one week, Thursday the next two, then back to Monday (Especially if they're used to going on a Wednesday!!!)
  9. I understand that That fact is irrelevant to the farcical scenario
  10. Kyle Howarth is looking forward to these meetings and winning promotion to the Premiership Where he already rides for another club
  11. Quite correct, sir So, only those 100% committed to our calendar should be engaged Look back at a season filled with: Early season "challenges" eg Britannia Shield Full league programme of 18 team league Proper KO Cup competition Regional mini leagues eg Midland League Each track, one individual meeting eg Brandonapolis Regional championship rounds, plus final eg Midland Riders Championship Sufficient racing in a season for the riders, consistent race nights, ability of fans of the sport to attend other tracks* * I used to be able when younger and fitter to be able to attend Perry Barr, Blackbird Road and Brandon virtually every week throughout the season, adding in occasional trips to Monmore Green, Abbey Stadium and Owlerton
  12. Just what the sport doesn't needIt needs stability - fans need to know which is their night for speedway, and that it will be that night, virtually every week of the season Just like it used to be Still think one main British League is the way forward There were problems in 1964 and the BL a. was the immediate answer and b. set the sport up for a "boom" period until greed, etc. got in the way
  13. Unfortunately, the comment I responded to - and I'm sure you'll agree - "IT is also Watt's farewell meeting and the Aussies felt he deserved the chance to make his exit at the Etihad." gave no mention of qualification, just the impression that he'd been given the slot as his farewell
  14. Makes an absolute mockery of the whole circus, irrespective of who the rider is
  15. Meaningless fixture - pointless travelling t'other side of globe for it Just to see Tai Woffinden do a lap of honour? Oh, and Jason Doyle too? A World Final in Australia would be something worthwhile
  16. What a shame Ole Olsen's Flying Circus caused British Speedway to lose thousands of spectators when they took Saturday night racing off our calendar Think of the "major" clubs which rode on Saturdays - Belle Vue, Coventry, Cradley Heath, Kings Lynn, Swindon, Wembley, etc No concerns about youngsters being out late before a schoolday Thanks, Great Pain
  17. There aren't many seats at Monmore Green Discussion, yes - but not through bait dangling which the Shoveller continually carries out, which your post showed many similarities to
  18. But there was no doubting his effort - as always What an original thought!
  19. If they come back, can someone please insist that they show every start from side on, across the tapes - front on and other shots fail to show what is happening
  20. Which is EXACTLY what the Shoveller does on here on a regular basis You demean yourself, Mr Rising, stooping so low
  21. As a neutral, I was hoping that Wolves could overcome the loss of their two riders and win the final But, I'm pleased that Swindon take the trophy as they "won the league" some time ago Now they've just won this four-team knock out tourney as well
