  1. Attendances show fixed nights aren't attracting enough customers Tracks must operate on the best nights for them - and we must have Friday and Saturday nights as Speedway nights
  2. Guests and rr were mainly caused by doubling up - one league would solve that
  3. So your answer is to run on nights the fans clearly don't want, or can't attend That sounds like a plan devised by the BSPA
  4. Perhaps use all the Polish and Swedish riders who lose their team places to those "leaving these shores" How can you justify a Friday night with just two meetings in Britain - a Friday night when the kids have no school tomorrow
  5. So Poland and Sweden have team places available do they?
  6. The SGB twitter feed states "Just the two fixtures this Friday" Doesn't that give an indication of exactly where it's gone wrong? Second tier meetings at Glasgow and Scunthorpe - that's all there is on this Friday night Forget Monday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday - racing should be available in particular on Friday and Saturday nights, that's when bigger attendances can be achieved I remember the dreadful attendances at Brandon for Monday Sky meetings - barely a quarter of what could be expected on a Friday or Saturday One big league, on nights to suit the operators - with riders committed to the British League
  7. The whole thing can be rectified very easily in 2019 ONE BRITISH LEAGUE RUNNING ON NIGHTS THE TRACKS PREFER TO OPERATE
  8. Pleased to see someone agrees with what I've always contended, that the main cause of the decline in British speedway is Ole Olsen's Flying Circus Sadly, the damage is far beyond repair Too many (failed) sticking plasters have been applied over recent years The return of Friday and Saturday night tracks is essential, and an end to the pandering to the SGP and Poland
  9. Take heat 9 away - then look at the standard of the rest of the meeting It comes across on tv very much as a track for the fastest bikes as opposed to the best riders Don't remember saying that about Hyde Road, or tracks like Blackbird Road or The Shay - entertainment almost guaranteed throughout the nights at those three, thanks to the riders, not the bikes
  10. Here we go then . . . . Same old cr@p from Sir Shoutalot Kelvin's ok, he has the knowledge and experience Time to ditch his baldy mate
  11. The chart only caters for 16 riders, when there's 18 in a meeting
  12. What the @@@@ was that interview with Iversen?
  13. I agree - except I think you mean "Masons" not "Stone Masons"
  14. Ouch Wishing for a full recovery - timescale unimportant
  15. Are tracks still going to run on tv Mondays, in other words in opposition to the televised meetings? Doesn't make much sense if they do!
  16. I just wonder whether, to any newcomers to the sport, those in the top photo - when they've donned their helmets and goggles - all look too much the same I remember the individuality of the appearance of riders like Mauger, Wigg, Boocock, Broadbanks, Silver, Cowland, etc, which somehow added to the experience as they were so immediately recognisable from the terraces and stands Particularly in these days of so many journeyman riders, making them all so anonymous is detrimental - race jackets (bibs) did us well enough for so long - and anyway, in team racing, it's helmet colours which are the easy way to identify the team members on track
