Yes, Steve - there’s plenty if you dig deep enough Also the British Newspaper Archive is awash with speedway reports - eg reports of Tom Farndon’s crash, hospitalisation, death and funeral -

World Finals World Finals - Out of 10
Midland Red replied to RPNY's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Attending a World Final, not knowing at the start who was going to win, seeing it all unfold, and the new World Champion being crowned. Those feelings, emotions, have all been lost, thanks to OOFC and its successors. Yes, there are good GPs, some great meetings, but they’re not much different from any other good or great individual meetings. World Final night can never be replicated - they were SPECIAL. -

I only saw two finals abroad, 1970 and 1977 - they naturally stand out for me -
I stand by my comments, based on what John told me himself when I visited him in 2014 PS Yes, a great article!

Plenty to chose from for a competitive team - Harris, Nicholls, King, Garrity, Andersen, Auty, Sargent, Kennett, Bates, Howarth, Morris, etc -
Yes he did, but continues to this day to suffer ill-effects from the crash well over 40 years ago
