Scunthorpe vs Leicester 02/09/22

Sounds like Leicester’s start Marshall has had some harsh words for a Thompson and upset quite a lot of people in the club and on the terraces. I do think they would benefit from being apart next year as they are still looked on as a package and that doesn’t help either now they’re older. -

Isn’t quitting essentially withholding your services? Genuine question because I’m not sure what else you could call it! -

Christ no, not even on a 2.00 average, I’d rather we ran with three riders in a heat. -

Anders Rowe steps down with immediate effect. What are the options folks? http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.31953 -
Lions rode really well. Some bad luck for Monarchs which made it harder to keep in touch, but they rely very heavily on Masters and Pickering (nod to Kye Thomson too who looks a good prospect) and the rest didn't really look great. I want to say as well that I paid to watch on Monarchs TV and I was impressed by how good the presentation was, I'll certainly do that again.

Sounds like they’ve cocked the track up then, they did the blade now maybe they need a plough! -

I did assume they’d put a few more drops than that!! -

New track record Nick Morris 59.81 and another sub 61 minute time in Heat 4. Track looking very fast tonight. -
Still don’t think having both Thompson’s was a good idea and I’m not sold on Rowe yet either.

Jason Garrity and Josh Bates as they are just hazards on a bike. Nicki Perdersen and Craig Cook because the toys go out of the pram at the first opportunity. Richard Sweetman because he buzzed off after about two meetings when the Lions came back and doomed us to an appalling first season back in speedway and I'll never forgive him for that, not after being so excited to see him at Leicester. Also Chris Popple back as announcer would cause me to go on a rampage. I'm sure he was a lovely bloke but it was so painful. Mind you it's not exactly that good now, hearing the Kaiser Chiefs playing for the fourth time a night makes me start twitching. -
Meeting abandoned after heat 11 due to track conditions and further rain. Glad I didn't waste my money.

Get in Lions!! Top of the league, top of the world!

I've just read it and I'm baffled, the only real decisions he had to make all night was Vissing breaking the tapes and Lawlor falling on his own. The Glasgow fans I spoke to were certainly more gracious and certainly not downcast so I'm sure it'll be a close thing on Tuesday, hopefully with the Lions on top!
-
What poor refereeing decisions? I must have missed that! I think Glasgow were poor and their travelling fans who were brilliant deserved better for their journey. As much as I'm pleased with the lead I did hope for a more exciting meeting...
-
It's odd to come away slightly deflated but with a 12 point lead, I think Glasgow had only had one other heat advantage all night. Cook didn't look interested after his engine went bang and Rasmus Jensen apart Glasgow were far poorer than I expected. Disappointed how Ryan Douglas tailed off and Scott Nicholls should have done better. I still think it'll be close at Ashfield, there's no way Glasgow will be so far adrift there.

Still waiting for country ambulance to come and take them both to hospital. One or two murmurings of discontent happening now. Pretty good crowd too.

Nasty crash between Josh Bates and Broc Nicol, heat 3 still not completed.

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember the lighting was re-used from the football pitches that were near the club house so they may be older than that, -

Glyn Taylor didn't built it, David Hemsley did. -
What do we have left?
-
Confirmed as Ritchie Worrall. Good signing I think.
-
Ah Bonky! He was my hero that first season. Gate like lightning and spend the next three laps getting slower and slower. Only question was could anybody find a way to get past him on that track!

What an utter joke. Laurel and Hardy appear to have taken over the promotion of Leicester Speedway If it weren't for being cast adrift by the cut off you do wonder if the riders would have turned round and told them to do one after that.
