  1. Or just crown Leicester champions as we've been top of the league all year anyway so we've earnt it. I mean if it hadn't been waiting for Poole to get the first leg done we'd have been finished by now right? Maybe we should have insisted you ran your meeting elsewhere?
  2. Yes, I'm sure if we can't get Saturday on some will bang on about how they should win as they (eventually) managed to get their leg on. Poole must be nailed on favourites if we can't get our track to dry out as they are used to gate and go at Wimborne Road after all.
  3. Hopefully we can fire a few broadsides and send the pesky Pirates to Davy Jones’s Locker on Saturday.
  4. Definitely agree with this. In fact I’d take an exciting team over hard experience, I think this season in the championship has been so lacking of real excitement, apart from Poole it’s almost been a foregone conclusion (results wise, racing has been excellent at times and good generally).
  5. As a number 4 it’d be a good punt but not as a heat leader I don’t think. I always wanted him at Leicester but I don’t think he’d be consistent enough for heat leader starting off. I mean if it is true hopefully I’ll be completely wrong!
  6. I’m on holiday in Cheshire and it’s been bloody awful all day up here bar a few hours this morning. Perils of leaving it so late.
  7. I mean I think it’s been left far too late anyway but that’s quite possibly the most nauseating excuse when the real reason is stated in the latter section anyway. I’m far more understanding at late in the season and lack of dates than the syncophantic bollocks. She did reach her Jubilee so claiming it’s out of respect is utter garbage, I mean if anything it could be a nice tribute if it were actually the true reason.
  8. I do feel that it's already got to a point where apart from maybe Poole and Glasgow the other home matches this year have been foregone conclusions. Whilst the racing has been good despite the scores there's less tension (for me anyway!) and therefore less crowd involvement in urging them on because it's been so comfortable again. I do think that despite some reservations in general and dislike of non-Saturday night racing the set up we have now is far, far better than when we did it before in terms of confidence and professionalism.
  9. Max Clegg in a reserve berth? Seems to be going nicely around the track in last few meetings and always put the effort in.
  10. I’d probably have Nichols over Harris, although Leicester is better for passing he can still trap whereas Harris can’t.
  11. I'm not sold on this and I wasn't last time; unlikely I'll be able to go as much going forward which is annoying. Saturday is the perfect day for a lot of us.
  12. Well good for you or something. You could have made the same inane point without the terrible post though.
  13. Oh I don't, I think it's bonkers tbh. The day of the funeral I can understand I suppose as it has to be a national "event".
  14. Still playing the Champions League tonight though? How apparently disrespectful!
  15. Given attendances at most tracks as a parameter you'd have a hard time spotting them!
  16. Well given the reaction on here perhaps the pubs should shut too and we can just stare into space for 10 days.
  17. She gets the same level of respect as anybody, I am sad she's died, the same way I was sad when Bernard Cribbins died for example, but I can't change it, and if anything it should show how finite the time we have is and that life is for living.
  18. I wish I'd known about this 10 days of mourning thing when my dad died, I could've done with that and got the country to mourn him too apparently. That's the absurdity of the situation. Yeah, because I didn't know her, in the same way you didn't stop talking speedway in June when my dad died did you? What am I supposed to be worried about on a speedway forum?
  19. Do you have a poll showing that majority who want everything to grind to a halt? I mean should I go into work tomorrow if we're meant to be mourning? Like anybody I didn't know and has lived a long time in the public eye, it's sad, but she was 96, she had a good life and I can understand the day of her funeral being a public holiday perhaps but the rest is just overkill. We're already struggling for dates for finishing the season, why make it even harder?
  20. Thems the breaks. I just want to go out and enjoy my Saturday night.
  21. Was she planning to attend then? I didn't know her, and sad as it is life goes on. My dad died in June but I didn't expect everything to stop, and nobody tell me it's more important than that because it isn't.
  22. Sounds like Leicester’s start Marshall has had some harsh words for a Thompson and upset quite a lot of people in the club and on the terraces. I do think they would benefit from being apart next year as they are still looked on as a package and that doesn’t help either now they’re older.
  23. Isn’t quitting essentially withholding your services? Genuine question because I’m not sure what else you could call it!
  24. Christ no, not even on a 2.00 average, I’d rather we ran with three riders in a heat.
