Congrats To Kenneth Bjerre
schumi replied to garf's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ken made it to the semis and scored 11 points in Copenhagen a fortnight after breaking his leg. He might not be able to challenge the top few, but then no-one can. We can either have a GP with four or five riders who are all competitive, or we can have a bit of variety with the best of the rest. Anyone who has bothered with, and made it through, the qualifiers gets my full respect. And who knows? Everyone thought Iversen would trail in last, but he's raised a few eyebrows. And Ken's just beaten him. I'm sick of hearing about Holder, Sajfutdinov and Pavlic. None of them think they're ready, and at least two of them went out of the challenge in the early stages. Good luck to all three qualifiers - they all deserve it. -
Well none of the line-up were ever going to trouble him anyway. Fair play to them all for entering though.

Thee Individual Swedish Championship

Third, isn't it? The original date off, then meant to be a couple of days later, but still raining, wasn't it? -
I heard they wanted to drop down anyway?
-
Looks like Scott Nicholls has mobilised something anyway. He's apparently riding tonight, although Dobrucki's still injured.

They won by some considerable margin - sixty something, twenty something last time I looked. -
Can anyone advise me how to get on the FIM/UEM mailing lists please? I've tried their websites but can't seem to find anything.

New Arena Safety Rules In Sweden.
schumi replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Agree with you, Erik. Whilst in an ideal world there would be air fences at all tracks, the Swedish economy isn't great at the moment, and teams are struggling. Who's going to fund this? And what happens if the teams simply can't afford it - will they still be able to run? Wondering if Masarna will fancy a spell in the Allsvenskan after all, if it means they get an extra year to find a fence. -
As has already been said on this thread, it won't be next year as he's already out of the qualifiers, so the only way in for him is with a nomination. That said, I do think he should have his chance. He's already proved he can beat some of the top GP riders here in the league, and he was plagued by mechanical problems during his qualifying round.

Robin Johansson Benefit Meeting

Don't think Ricky's still in this, is he? Lakeside had to restage their Cup meeting at Eastbourne for that day. -
When did this happen, or is it just the official reason they have a facility?

Well, unless you're against MasarnaAvesta. Mind you, Nicholls isn't currently riding in Sweden, is he?
