Which Clubs Allow Fans Into The Pits?
Triple.H. replied to Sophies Mate's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Just about everyone moans about Leicesters track and I admit that IMO it could be far better but the pits are an awful design. -
Gp Qualifier Sat June 7th @ Berwick
Triple.H. replied to screm's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
i didnt say run without permission i said ask for permission, and as i said in a later post as well as the one you have quoted, how many FIM meetings get postponed i think you'll find the answer is not very many. Maybe the club should ask fans of all clubs that if you stay in a local guest house or hotel or eat in a restaurant mention you're there for the speedway the club then may find some useful allies when it comes to getting a little flexibility off of the council. -

I dont know about the council in Berwick but councils are generally in a state of flux and no matter what misdemeanours may have happened in the past any council with little or no flexibility especially when the event is bringing money into local businesses and getting the town Publicity as a destination for short breaks etc would seem to me to be cutting off there nose to spite their face. As I said in my original post not many FIM meetings get postponed. -

Totally agree that if the local council had been contacted they would very likely have given permission for a sunday meeting in the unlikely event of a rainoff. After all not many FIM meetings do get rained off. -

All you need is a gentlemens Agreement like in the old NNL and NL days of Only British or Commonwealth riders which acted as a feeder system for the BL. A rule which lasted years and if I remember correctly was only broken/tested when RyeHouse signed Peter Schroek and Jens Rasmussen I think Ronnie Russell was the promotor. Hopefully the FastTrack system with a few tweaks will provide more British riders for PL teams and the development will continue so they step up to EL and international level.

Obviously there is a large space on his racesuit in this area wouldnt it be a good idea to put the GOSH logo there to promote the wonderful work he's doing to raise funds for them. Maybe it could be a sprat to catch a mackerel by bringing other sponsors on board.

Didnt Gramstad get hit by someone Doing a practice start which Caused his injury seem to remember it may have been the late Zdenek Kudrna for some reason. Einar Kyllingstad got a cracking 15pt maximum one sunday afternoon against Swindon at Blunsdon followed by a fine tonking of the Robins by the mighty CHEETAHS of Oxford. Read in Backtrack or Five1 that Dag Lovaas and Reidar Eide didn't get on as Eide was jealous of the new kid kn tbe block and it was thought by those who witnessed the incident that Lovaas had been fenced deliberately.

I would've thought that James McBain may have been a better choice. Unless of course there's some daft rule in place to prevent it.

Charlie Gjedde Comeback ?
Triple.H. replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I would think he deserves an average reduction not only due to the amount of timeout with injuries as Charlie has been loyal to his British commitments ever since he first came over here. Bloody stylish rider too -
This edition of the programme had a piece on Flat track racing in the USA and an interview with Chris Carr, also about his attempt for the landspeed record on a motorcycle. Its about 2/3 of the way into the programme. Daresay the programme is available on 4OD also repeated this wednesday morning at 1:35.

Togliati Sgp Talks
Triple.H. replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Thats what I meant when the track was at the planning stage Surely someone must have thought that looks a bit narrow we need to alter it. Or perhaps they're trying to beat the amount of posts about Leicesters track on this forum. -
Togliati Sgp Talks
Triple.H. replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Surely our Russian friends could sort all the TV equipment etc at their end. IMO full stadiums would give BSI/IMG a greater chance of bringing in more sponsorship. Along of course with a decent track to provide decent racing. BSI/IMG bosses should be asking serious questions about the track in Finland and why such errors were made regarding the width of the bends and dont give me the restrictions of stadium size and use the promotors must have been virtually given carte blanche to build what they wanted otherwise why let them lay the track in november 2013. -

Pubs That Show Speedway On A Regular Basis..
Triple.H. replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Harcourt Arms the Swedish pub in Marylebone London say they show Swedish sports and on their website they have a calendar showing which sports are planned to be shown cant see any speedway listed but you can also email them to ask if they could put it on. -
Covering the track is time consuming but could maybe work this way. Ie cover secured at whiteline and top of fence and dropped down the 6ft or so and secured to ground outside the fence. Track would be ventilated so hopefully preventing sweating and any wetpatches could be solved by grading when covers removed. Some may think its daft but at least its an idea.
