Triple.H. replied to racers and royals's topic in Years Gone By
Test match vs USA the day after 85 world final conditions were awful and didn't the Americans have John Cook's mechanic or mate who was a waterskier or suchlike riding. -
Don't their wigs blow off ?

It is special. Unbelievable speed and it's very much like the Golden Helmet as it's like the big event in town so everyone turns up

As a Speedway Star subscriber and forum user it's nice to hear this Phil. It's about time the questions were asked and not answered in the typical political way. In the broad scheme of things Phil as so many of us have moaned about in the past A Builder you employ to build your new conservatory subcontracts the glazing to his mate at Youvebeendone PVC the windows aren't upto the standard you want. Then the ping pong starts but the person ultimately responsible is the builder you employed who subcontracted that part of the job. So ask the questions please -

Don't know how long you've been following the sport but back in the good old day's when stadiums were packed fans loved a bit of centre green/start line arguing and handbags.Brendan may be the biggest nob in British speedway I don't know and I certainly doubt it. -

Having not been there and also knowing nothing of the incident other than previously posted my guess is BJ fell or knocked another rider off some supporters ? gave him abuse as he went back to the pits when he gave a bit back he's the biggest winker in British Speedway -

In my years of supporting the Oxford Cheetahs Rebels Cheetahs(again) Silver Machine, Cheetahs (again) plus junior teams like the cubs,Lions etc I've seen many an awful team performance much like I have with my football team. I daresay I'm like many people who follow their local team in any sport in that when the good times come you absolutely love it and then the fairweather glory hunters turn up in their droves and leave as soon as the normality returns.
-
You should try a season or two at Oxford you don't know how lucky you are.Though I'm still a season "glutton for punishment" ticket holder at the theatre of nightmares.
-
I try my best.

I'd hazard a guess that this season like many before will provide great entertainment as it has done every year since I started watching back in the early 70s We didn't have the Internet back then so idiotic clowns couldn't constantly post CRAP on a forum

Call me stupid Hey Triple.H your stupid I didn't think NL teams could sign assets so obviously the rule has changed and I've missed it or has it changed at all. I look at it from a totally neutral position but a team like Buxton finding a rough diamond and selling him on could be the difference between running and not running. With the in house politics of British Speedway this no doubt has happened numerous times.

No wonder Lakeside has a reputation as a trick track if there's trees on it. -
To be honest if I was a rider and was threatened with a ban for not riding on what i and other riders considered an unsafe track I'd take the ban. I'd much rather be banned than crippled or dead.I have in my job asked Those above me in the company food chain to show me how to do a job I consider unsafe to do numerous times. I've worked for the company for 35 years and none of them have taken up my offer.
-
But maybe it would have. It's all hypothetical so nobody knows one way or the other. Or do you know for definite

IMO it was typical of most early season meetings, nobody was going to bust a gut as they're all gradually getting back into the swing of things. The lineup was a very good mixture of established riders and youngsters hoping to become one of those established riders. As someone who doesn't get to see as much Live Speedway as I would like nowadays I thought it was an entertaining night
